And please allow me, Mr. Commander, to suggest a more extended report for the future that our absent ones in nearly every state and territorry in the union shall be supplied, and that they may in completely digesting the same be thoroughly enthused with the saute patriotic spirit which causes us that are more highly favored, to feel like fighting out battles over again. The spirit of liberality which actuated those that have been greatly prospered financially, is appreciated by those that have not been thus prospered. Then let the motto of the tried soldiers ever be charity for all and malice toward noue.
WEBBER.
Lieut, A. W. Stewart was not present to perform the duty assigned him on the programme.
Comrade A. W. Belcher responded to "Our Flag" in an eloquent, patriotic address. He managed to say about as many good things in a short space of time as is possible to do, but as the address was extemporaneous it is impossi- to give it here.
Lieut. John H. Henderson moved that a vote of thanks be tendered Miss Emma Dawdy. Carried with enthusiasm.
Miss Dawdy had sewed the fringe on all the badges, had charge of them, and pinned one on each comrade's cost. She also performed on the piano, and and in various ways took an active part in the reunion.
On motion of Col. Falmestock, the Commander appointed a committee of five, as follows : A. L. Fabnestock, Jo. Major, John Morrow, A. J. Baldwin, and H. B. Smith to select a Chaplain, and a comrade to deliver the annual ad- dress at the next reunion.
They recommended for Chaplain, A. Q. Wilson; for the annual address, L. L. Lehman.
The committee's report was unanimously adopted.
Major John D. Hall, son of Capt. John H. Hall, appeared and invited the regiment and all its friends to take a ride on the Ft. Clark street cars. This kind invitation was accepted and one o'clock p. m. set as the time to start.
Next was a recitation by the "Daughter of the Regiment," and then adjourned for dinner.
At one o'clock a large number of comrades and friends met on Jefferson

street near Main and boarded the mule cars for a ride over the entire Ft. Clark line. This gave the old boys a good out-of-doors chance to test their lungs and crack their jokes. Some of the jokes were chestnuts twenty-nine years old, but chestnuts or no chestnuts, it was a very enjoyable ride as was at- tested by a roaring vote of thanks on dismounting from the cars.
On again returning to the hall, the committee on death roll reported the following, which after remarks in honor of the dead by a large number of comrades, were unanimously adopted.
Commander and Comrades: Your Committee on Resolutions, of respect to the memory of comrades who make the death-roll of the past year, beg to report as follows: With each passing year we see the work of death going on in our midst, and around us as one and another, fall from their places and dis - appear from the sphere of life and activity.
WHEREAS, The names of Comrades Lieut. J. C. Kingsley, Walter J. Berdine, Co. B .; Isaac N. McCulley, Co. C .: John Kleffner, Co. D .; Madison Corbine, Co. G .; J. F. Potts ane Harry Young: Co. K., are reported to us as having died during the past year. Be it
Resolved, That the members of this Eighty-sixth Infantry Veteran Asso- ciation now assembled, extend our heartfelt condolence and sympathy to the family and friends of those comrades, and that this be recorded in the proceed- ings of this meeting, and a copy be sent to each bereaved fautily.
I. S. NORTH, J. H. BRUBAKER, . Committee. CYRUS ROOT,
Ou motion of A. P. Webber, Lieut. E. C. Sillmau was appointed to attend the next reunion of the Fifty-second Ohio Regiment as a delegate from the Eighty-sixth Illinois, to convey fraternal greeting of the latter to the former .
The new Commander, A. W. Belcher, of Co. H. was then duly installed and appointed the following
EXECUTIVE GOMMITTEE :
Co. A-J. H. Brubaker,
Co. C-E. C. Silliman,
Co. B-J. L. Davidson, Co. D -- Joseph Wrigley,
Co. E -F. H. Hosselton, Co. F- - L. J. Dawdy. ;
Co. G -- L. S. North, Co. H-J. W. Ewing,
Co. I-A. L. Fahuestock,
Co. K-John Morrow.
Adjutent C. W. Mckown tendered his resignation to take effect when the Executive Committee meets next year. He stated that he would write up the proceedings of the present reunion, have it published and mail a copy to each comrade, and then when the committee meet they can select his successor to act until an Adjutant can be duly elected at the reunion.
A motion prevailed to hold our next reunion in Peoria on August 27th and 2Sth, IS92.
The doxology, Praise God from whom all blessings flow, was sung as a farewell and the assembly dispersed.

TO THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF THE EIGHTY-SIXTH REGIMENT ILLINOIS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY:
Dear Comrades :- Our 30th anniversary of muster in as soldiers for the preservation of our Union, and sixth reunion, held in Peoria, Ill., Aug. 27 and 28, 1892, was a very pleasant one. Comrade Adjt. Mckown reports 95 regis. tered as present, and SS paid dues of one dollar each, the largest collection of dues ever made. This is certainly gratifying.
As you all know, next year will occur the great World's Fair, and Colum- bian Exposition at Chicago. An immense throng will visit that city. I sincerely hope that every surviving member of the S6th, will be among that great concourse of people, who will assemble there from every quarter of the world.
It was suggested by some of the members, at our last reunion, that, on ac- count of the great show at Chicago. it would perhaps be better not to meet in reunion next year; but as many of the absent comrades wrote they were intend- ing to visit the great World's Fair, and arrange their time so as to attend our seventh reunion at Peoria, ou their Chicago trip, it occurred to every member present that this would afford the World's Fair visitors a splendid opportunity to meet their old comrades, and that by no means must we omit a reunion next year. It was at once unanimously decided to hold a reunion. Every member hailed with great pleasure the determination expressed in the letters of the absent ones, to be present with us next year. , We look forward with delight, hoping we may meet many who are far off and who have never been able to meet with us before. I therefore most earnestly request and urge every living comrade of the 86th, and as many of the comrades of other regiments who tramped with us through the Southern Confederacy, you may desire to invite, to be present at our seventhi reunion, to be held in Peoria, Ill., Aug. 27 aud 28th, 1893.
Let us not forget that our ranks are rapidly thinning. Only a few years more, and there will be only a few to meet at these reunions. If you iniss next year, you may never have another opportunity. Come then; bring along your wives and children .- Let the widows, sons and daughters come, too, and clasp the hands once more, of the true and loyal survivors of 1862-1865. Yes, come and look in their faces and see how they all have changed. You will not recognize them. You will remember them only by their names, or some inci- dent that occurred on the march. in the camp, or the sixteen battles we were in. The eyes that were bright and keen then, are dim now; the firm and measured step that could keep time to fife and drum, and march wherever duty called, are not so firm now. You will look at the gray locks 'of the old veterans, perhaps for the first time in 20 or 30 years, tears will come unbidden, and you will exclaim, how changed! But you will enjoy many a hearty laugh in hearing and talking over the old war stories with your ou' old comrades and soldiers of the old S6th Ills. The stern realities, the events of thirty years ago, are the stories of the old veterans today.
