Was married Jan. 1, 1840, to Miss Kate Burrett ; she was born in Montgomery Co., N. Y .; have two children living- Maggie M., widow of E. S. Chappell (deceased), and Geo. L .; lost two-An- drew J., died Nov. 27, 1847 ; Frank died April 2, 1852. Mr. R. organized the Elgin Battery, and was Captain of same until he resigned, in 1863, on ac- count of ill health.
