Girls' Camp; Boy Scouts' Camp; Minne- trista Golf Club (nine holes) ; Delaware Country Club (eighteen holes). Football, basketball, baseball and other sports in industries, schools and Ball State Teachers College. EDUCATIONAL :- One high, one junior high, four junior ele- mentary schools; new vocational and physical education building seating 8,000. One parochial, one private, one business and one Conservatory of Music. Total school en- rollment, 9,500. Total value school property, $2,763,889.55. Curriculum prepares for university and higher educational institutions of America.


COLLEGE :- Ball State Teachers (branch Indiana State Normal System) ; total enrollment averages 1,300 pupils; value of property about $2,000,000.00. Trains students for teaching. Buildings consist of administration, dormitories, science hall, library, assembly hall, Ball gymnasium, Burris School and central heating plant.


CHURCHES :- Forty-two in number; 23 different denominations. Almost every church owns its own building. Religious edu- cation is stressed and Y. M. C. A. Bible classes are noted.


PUBLIC BUILDINGS :- Many organizations own their buildings including the Muncie Chamber of Commerce, Public Library, Y. M. C. A., Masonic Temple, Y. W. C. A., Eagles, Moose, American Legion, National Guard Armory, K. of C., K. of P., in addition there are the Ball Memorial Hospital and Nurses Home-a $1,250,000.00 institution, and several splen- did new churches.


HOTELS :- Roberts, 200 rooms; Delaware, 120 rooms; Braun, 73 rooms; New Kirby, 85 rooms and a number of smaller hos- telries, with total rooming capacity of 500.


THEATRES :- Five theatres-Rivoli, Wysor Grand, Strand, Up- town, Liberty, and Vaudelle, playing vaudeville and moving pictures. Auditoriums for other attractions are Masonic Temple, National Guard Armory, Ball Gymnasium, Field House, and Chamber of Commerce buildings.

POST OFFICE :- Modern building under construction, 74 mem- bers on staff; 3 daily deliveries in business district and 2 in residental sections. 1930 receipts were $233,483.57.


COMMUNITY FUND :- Finances 11 charitable, educational and social agencies, and $95,277.00 was raised for 1933 purposes.


NEWSPAPER :- Two dailies, Star and Press; one weekly, Post- Democrat, reaching every section of Muncie's trade territory. TRANSPORTATION :- Four railroads, (Big Four, Pennsyl- vania, Nickel Plate, Chesapeake & Ohio) ; 3 belt lines, serv- ing extensive manufacturing districts; 3 electric lines; 5 bus lines, with bus service to all parts of the city.


MANUFACTURING :- Diversified in all respects with 125 fac- tories producing more than 300 different kinds of articles; about 10,000 employees receiving approximately $1,000,000 in wages monthly.

POSTAL RATES AND REGULATIONS.


DOMESTIC MAIL MATTER.


First-Class Mail Matter includes writ- ten matter, typewritten matter and car- bon copies thereof, whether sealed or un- sealed; postal cards (Government cards), post cards (private mailing cards) and all sealed matter, except third- and fourth- class matter under certain conditions. Imitations of typewriting produced by mimeograph, multigraph, etc., are classed as first-class mail matter unless mailed at post office window in 20 or more iden- tical copies. The postage rate on first- class matter is three cents for each ounce or fraction of an ounce when addressed for other than local delivery; two cents for each ounce when addressed for local delivery. The rate on Government postal cards is one cent each, the price for which they are sold. The rate on private mail- ing cards (post cards) is 1 cent each.


[Post cards (private mailing cards) are cards manufactured by private persons consisting of cardboard substantially like the Government postal cards, not exceed- ing in size 32 by 5 inches, nor less than 234 by 4 inches. Larger mailing cards bearing the words "post card" or "private mailing card" are chargeable with first-class rate 3 cents for each ounce. Larger cards not bearing such words will be third-class matter-112 cents for each two ounces or fraction of two ounces, or first-class rate if they contain writing.]


Business Reply Cards and Envelopes- Firms may mail double reply cards, or inclose single reply cards, or reply en- velopes, with other matter, at the regular postage rates and the reply cards and en- velopes can be returned to them without prepayment of postage by the addressee, provided the firm will guarantee to pay for their return at the rate of 1 cent each in addition to regular rate. Firms or persons desiring this privilege should make written application to the post- master.


Air Mail Fees-Eight cents for the first ounce or fraction thereof and 13 cents for each additional ounce or fraction thereof.


Second-Class Mail Matter consists of periodical publications entered as second- class matter. When mailed by the pub- lisher or news agents the special zone rates apply. When mailed by the general public the transient second-class rate is one cent for each two ounces or fraction of two ounces. Parcel Post rate if lower. When copies are not complete the third- or fourth-class rate applies according to weight.
