MONROEVILLE.
Is a thrifty, incorporated town of 1,300 inhabitants, located in Monroe township, Allen county, on the P., Ft. W. & C. Ry., 16 miles southeast of Fort Wayne, the county seat and banking town, and 140 northeast of Indianapolis. Monroe- ville was incorporated in 1863, and is supplied with 4 churches -Methodist, Lutheran, Christian, and Catholic-a graded school of 5 departments, 1 hotel and a weekly newspaper- Breeze. Two saw mills, stave and heading works, brick yard, flour mill and tile works, comprise the principal manufacto- ries. The surrounding country is well timbered.
