RATES OF FARE.
AS ESTABLISHED BY CITY ORDINANCES, RELATIVE TO PUBLIC CARRIAGES.
SEC. 7. The prices to be charged by the owner or driver of any vehicle, except an omnibus, for the conveyance of pas- sengers for hire, within said city, shall be as follows, to be regulated and estimated by the distance on the most direct routes, namely :
For conveying a passenger not exceeding one mile. ... 50c For conveying a passenger any distance over a mile and
less than two miles .. .$1.00
For conveying children between five and fourteen years of age, half the above prices may be charged for like distances, but for children under five years of age no charge shall be made, unless such child is the only passenger, in which case full charge may be made.
The distance from any railroad depot or hotel to any other railroad or hotel shall, in all cases, be estimated as not exceed- ing one mile.
For the use of coaches drawn by two horses, with one or more passengers, by the day. $8.00
For the use of any vehicle by the hour, with one or more passengers, with the privilege of going from place to place, and stopping when required, as follows:

For each succeeding hour 1.00
$1.50
Every passenger shall be allowed to have conveyed upon such vehicle, without charge, his ordinary traveling baggage, not exceeding in any case one trunk.
SEC. 13. Any person who shall violate any or either of the provisions of this chapter, or any section, clause or provision of any section of this chapter, or who shall fail or neglect to comply with any or either of the requirements thereof, shall, upon conviction, pay a fine of not more than one hundred dollars.
