Section 7. The prices to be charged by the owner cr driver of any vehicle, except an omnibus, for the convey- ance of passengers for hire, within said city, shall be as follows, to be regulated and estimated by the distance on the most direct routes, namely :
For conveying a passenger not exceeding one mile .... $0.50 For conveying a passenger any distance over a mile and less than two miles 1.00
For conveying children between five and fourteen years of age half the above price may be charged for like dis- tances, but for children under five years of age no charge shall be made, unless such child is the only passenger, in which case full charge may be made.
The distance from any railroad depot or hotel to any other railroad or hotel shall, in all cases, be estimated as not exceeding one mile.
For the use of coaches drawn by two horses with one
or more passengers by the day $8.00

Every passenger shall be allowed to have conveyed upon such vehicle without charge his ordinary traveling baggage, not exceeding in any case one trunk.
Section 13. Any person who shall violate any or either of the provisions of this chapter or any section, clause or provision of any section of this chapter or who shall fail or neglect to comply with any or either of the requirements thereof shall, upon conviction, pay a fine of not more than one hundred dollars.
