HAYDEN'S MERCANTILE COLLEGE.
HAYDEN'S MERCANTILE COLLEGE!
South-West Corner Washington and Meridian Sts., INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA.
JAMES C. HAYDEN, Principal.
Formerly Professor of Book-Keeping and Penmanship in BACON's MERCANTILE COLLEGE, Cincinnati, Ohio.
JOSEPH B. HAYDEN, First Assistant.
MyThe Male and Female Departments of this Institution will hereafter be open for the reception of students ten months in each year, viz : From the first Monday in September to the first day of July ; and as students are taught separately, they may enter at any time, with the assurance that they will receive the undivided atten- tion of the Principal, and be advanced in their studies as rapidly as their mental capacites will permit. An Evening Session will com- mence each year on the first Monday of October and continue to the first of March.
PLAN OF TEACHING:
Instead of merely copying Crittenden's Book-Keeping (the plan hitherto pursued in this city ), students will be exercised in making original entries, of every day business transactions, as they actually occur in this city and in Cincinnati, and thus acquire a practical knowledge of Book-Keeping and a habit of self-reliance which never can be acquired by the use of text books alone.
COURSE OF STUDY:
The Course of Instruction will consist of Double Entry Book- Keeping, embracing every department of trade and mercantile accounts, viz : Wholesale, Retail, Exchange, Banking, Domestic and Foreign Shipping, Steamboating, Manufacturing, Joint Stock and Compound Company Business ; also Single Entry Book-Keep- ing, Commercial Calculations and Commercial Law.
TUITION : Male Department, $25; Female Department, $15, in advance-Diploma $3.
My Good boarding can be obtained for $2.75 per week. A full course may be completed in from eight to ten weeks.
