MILFORD TOWNSHIP.


In 1833, Jacob Balls settled in this township and built hin a log house on Section 4. About the same time Richard Rice came andl camped on See- tion 3, amil remainedl one printer. Mmott Goodell. Fsq,, now living pn Section 4, came m with his lather, Capt, Styles Goodsell, aml setitel in that section in 1835. In that year Minati Goodsell and Jacob Units erected n log school honse at Mnd Corners, in Section 3. The school nas taught by Orris Danks.


'T he township was organized m 1637 hy the election of a T'onn Boaril of hve officers.


Col. Wm. Cochran was chosen Inspector ; Capt, Slyles Goorkell and Capl. Syhanus Hatch were electedl Jililges ; and Wm. B. Damm and Wm. Scarls, Clerks.


There were some three volers left when the board were selecteil.


Charles Turner was nnanimonsly electeil as The first Justice, and Colonel Cochran was the first Supervisor.
