FAIR GROUNDS.


These grounds are situated about one mile north of the court house, on the Charlestown road, and on the line of the Louisville, New Albany & Chicago Railroad. They comprise an area of about seventy-four mores, and contains one of the best mile tracks in America. The grounds are supplied with a good hotel, a dance hall 150 by 50; s fine amphitheatre build- ing, together with all necessary stables, sheds, and pens for live stock.

Embraces merchandise and all matter not included in the 1st, 2d, or 8d class, which not liable to injure the mail matter. Limit of weight, 4 pounds.

All packages of matter of the 3d or 4th elase must be so wrapped or enveloped that their contents may be examined by the postmaster without destroying the wrappers.


Matter of the 2d, 3d, or 4th class, containing any writing, except as here specified, or except bills and receipts for peri, odicals, or printed commercial papers filled out in writing, sa deeds, bills, etc., will be charged with letter postage, bus the sender of any book may write names or addresses therein, or on the outside, with the word "from" preceeding the same, or may write briefly on any package the number and names of the articles inclosed.
