CANADIAN POBTAGE.


Letter and newspaper postage to Canada same as in the United States. Merchandise by mail to Canada must not exceed eight ounces in weight, and the postage is 10 centi whether the package weighs one ounce or eight ounces.


Samples of merchandise for despatch in mails to foreign countries are restricted to bona fide trade samples ar specimens having no salable or commercial value in excess of that setually necessary for their use as samples or specimens Goods sent for sale in execution of an order, or as gifts, buy- ever small the quantity may be, are not adminsable at sample rates and conditions.


SPECIAL DELIVERY SYSTEM


was introduced October 1, 1885, and is now extended to all post-offices in the United States, and to all classes of mail matter. Accordingly every article of mailable matter. le which = 10 cent special delivery stamp is affixed, in additim to the postage required by law, will upon its arrival by mail, have immediate delivery by s special messenger within the carrier's limits of any free delivery post-office, or within our mile of any other post-office in the United States to which it may be addressed. A letter bearing a special delivery stamp. together with the regular postage, may be mailed at any post- ofco. A special delivery stamp costs 10 cents.

Money orders may be drawn upon any money order office in the United States for any sum not to exceed $100 .. For amounts larger than $100, additional orders to make up that amount must be issued, but not more than three orders can be issued to the same remitter and in favor of the same payee, in one day.


Money orders are now uniform to nil foreign countries, and are 10 centa for $10, or any fraction thereof, for instance, less than $10 would be-le cente pever $10 and not exceeding $80, 20 cents ; over $20 and not exceeding $80, 80 cents, and so on. In France and Belgium the limit for which money orders can be drawn is $49.88, all other foreign countries. the limit is $50.
