READ CAREFULLY.
ELWOOD, IND., AUGUST 29, 1892.
Messrs. Jacob & Co., Indianapolis, Ind .:
GENTLEMEN :- We hereby confirm order of our Superintendent, Mr. Baird, to you for one large bevel gear wheel pattern, 8 ft. 44 in., diameter, and in all respects to be exactly like drawing left with you. There were several parties wanting to make this pattern, but knowing it to be a difficult piece of work, and having confidence in your ability to do the work right, we concluded to place the order with you.
Very truly yours, ELWOOD IRON WORKS,
Per JOHN HOLLORAN, Pres't.
TO FACTORIES, FOUNDRIES, ETC.
You are using machinery that can be improved.
You desire working drawings, blue prints, plans, specifications, etc.
We can design and build you special machinery, make your drawings, blue prints, etc.
You are caused frequently to witness certain parts of your machinery broken, and must have broken part replaced at once.
You use heavy machinery, pulleys, gears, etc. If they break, ship them to us and we will make pattern and casting, finish casting and send same to you at earliest possible moment.
If you have large gears, etc., that are liable to break, send us word and we will come and make drawings, then furnish pattern casting, etc., as desired.
We make patterns of every description, in either wood or metal, for cast iron, malleable iron, brass, steel, etc.
We have one of the largest pattern and model shops in the West.
We make a specialty of large bevel and spur gears up to fourteen feet in diameter.
We have special room prepared for experimental work, and all improve- ments made by us while working on such work, becomes the property of the inventor employer.
An inventor should take out a caveat on his invention and then have the invention made practical, and apply for letters patent in its complete working order, thus saving much expense and giving a more valuable invention. All this we can do, having many years experience in this line.
Write us for full information .
