DIRECTORY BORROWERS

E RECEIVE many complaints from our patrons to the effect that they are bothered so much by BORROWERS. These parties are not the private citizen nor the stranger in the city, who steps in, looks at the Directory and goes out, but merchants, business and professional men, who need a Directory every day of the year, yet who are too close-fisted to buy one.

These same individuals are the ones that borrow your Directory "just for a minute," which, in the majority of cases, means a day or perhaps a week, unless you remember that they have it and send for it.

› These same borrowers will tell the Directory canvasser that he has "no use for a Directory," that he "knows everybody," and, vice versa, "everybody knows him."
