PREFACE.

THE sixth volume of the BLUE BOOK of Brookline we herewith present to our readers, having issued it some earlier in the season than heretofore.

We are pleased to note the generous reception accorded it, as indicated by the many subscriptions and advertisements received. We have changed and enlarged the book this year, as will be noticed by looking over its pages.

We have printed the names twice, added a map, and a list of Allston residents, and thought best to bind the books in cloth and gold, fixing the price so low that every one can afford to take it.

We believe our advertising pages will be read with interest, as they represent responsible houses in their several lines, and the suc- cess of the book is largely due to their patronage.

Thanking our many friends for their encouragement, we remain,

Yours truly. EDWARD A. JONES.

SPRING, 1891.

I

N our new store, No. 411 Washington Street (ground floor), we are fully prepared to show a larger stock and in greater variety than we have ever before carried, em- bracing many Engish Novelties in Suitings, Overcoatings and Trouserings.

We solicit the honor of your early inspection.

Respectfully yours,

BLUE BOOKS

CAMBRIDGE. NEWTON. BROOKLINE. BRIGHTON AND ALLSTON. EDWARD A. JONES, Publisher,

No. 79 Milk Street. BOSTON. Elevator, 10 Federal.

What an advertiser wants is the cir- culation, quality as well as quantity to be considered.

If you want to advertise direct to families and homes, you cannot make a mistake by taking space in these books the coming year.

The steadily increasing patronage which has been accorded to these books since the first volumes were issued, six years ago, is the best testimonial to the value as advertising mediums placed upon them by shrewd advertisers.

Give them a trial.
