PREFACE.

Ir will be observed that this issue of the WALTHAM AND WATER- TOWN DIRECTORY, constituting No. 11 in the regular series, bears a new imprint, viz., the LITTLEFIELD DIRECTORY PUBLISHING CO. The work, however, has not changed hands, it is still compiled and Published by MR. ELMER LITTLEFIELD, for many years a co- partner in the firm of W. A. GREENOUGH & Co. Our patrons may rest assured that every endeavor will be used to make this publication all that such a work ought be. To this end, every facility which money can procure or long experience may suggest will be brought under tribute. We trust that we shall have the earnest co-operation and patronage of the thriving communities whose interests we are trying to promote. Any suggestions that may be offered will be gladly welcomed. We extend our cus tomary acknowledgements to all who have aided in the compilation of the present number.
