FORM OF ADMISSION,
ADDRESS.
BELOVED FRIENDS :
You have now presented yourselves before God and his people and the world, to make a solemn profession of your religions faith, and to take upon you the bonds of the everlasting Covenant. We trust that you have sincerely and prayerfully considered the nature of these obligations, and that you are prepared by divine grace to give yourselves away, as " a living sacrifice, " holy and accepta- Ble to God through Jesus Christ.
-
4
You will then attend to the
CONFESSION OF FAITHI.
1. You believe in One only living and true God ; the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of the universe; a Being of infinite power, knowledge, wisdom, justice, goodness and truth; the self- existent, independent and immutable fountain of good; and that this One God is revealed to us in the Sacred Volume, under the distinction of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, God over all blessed forever.
2. You believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testa- ment are the inspired word of God ; and that they are a sufficient aird the only perfect rule of faith and practice.
. 1.
3. You believe that the divine law and the principles and a:lministration of the divine government are perfectly holy, just. and good ; and that all rational beings are bound to approve of them as such.
£
4
CONFESSION OF FAITH.
1 4. You believe that in consequence of the apostacy of Adarft from his original stats of rectitnde, the heart of man in his natural state, or previous to regeneration, is destitttte of holiness, and in a state of positive disaffection with the law, chitfacter and govern- inent of God.
5. You believe that Christ, the Son of God, has by his suffer : Ings and death on the cross, made atonement for sin ; so that the offer of pardon and salvation is now made to all, on condition that they will break off their sins by repentance, and believe on the Lord Jesus as their only Redeemer.
6. You believe that repentance and faith denote an internal spiritual change, the natural fruit of which is cordial obedience to the law of God; that this change is produced by the Holy Spirit, and that all who are thus born of the Spirit will be indebted for the same to the grace and mercy of God through the Atonement of Christ, and will be kept by his power, through faith, unto salva- tion.
7. You believe that there will be a general resurrection of the bodies both of the just and of the unjust ; that all mankind must one day stand before the judgment seat of Christ, to receive a just and final sentence of retribution, according to the deeds done here in the body ; and that the punishment of the wicked, and the happiness of the righteous will be without end.
8. You believe that Christ has a visible Church in the world, into which nonc, in the sight of God, but real believers, and none, in the sight of men, but visible believers, have right of admission.
9. Yon believe that the Sacraments of the New Testament are Baptism and the Lord's Supper: that believers in regular church standing only can consistently partake of the Lord's Supper ; and that believers and their households only can consistently be admitted to the ordinance of Baptism.
Do you thus believe ?
[Baptism is here administered. ]
5
COVENANT.
You will not enter into Covenant with God and with this Church.
COVENANT.
You do now, in the presence of God, angels and men, avonch the Lord Jehovah, Father, Son and Holy Ghost to be your God, the supreme object of your affections, and your chosen portion for- ever.
You cordially acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ. in all his me- diatorial offices, Prophet, Priest and King, as your only Saviour and final Judge : and the Holy Spirit as your Sanctifier, Comforter, and Guide. You humbly and cheerfully devote yourselves to God In the everlasting covenant of Grace; you consecrate all your powers and faculties to his service and glory ; and you promise that through the assistance of his spirit and grace, you will cleave to him as your chief good ; that, denying all ungodliness and every worldly lust, you will live soberly, righteously, and godly : and that you will strive to walk in all the commandments and ordi- Mances of the Lord D'ameless.
You do now cordially join yourselves to this as a Church of Christ, and agree to submit to its discipline, as prescribed in the divine trord. You agree to aid in maintaining the public worship of God. You promise to watch over yourselves and over each member in covenant with you ; to give and receive, as occasion may require, warning, reproof and admonition. You do solemnly covenant with this church and with God to search the Scriptures daily, and take them for your guide in faith and practice ; to maintain secret prayer, and it at the head of a household, family prayer ; to meet with this church for the public and social worship of God; to give your influence, example and prayers to build up the cause of our Divine Lord and Master ; and, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, to be followers of God as dear children.
Thus you solemnly covenant and promise ?
We, then, the members of this church, the members of the church here rix Jaffectionately receive you to our communion and

fellowship, and, on our part, promise to watch over your spiritual interests, ever treating you in love as members of the baly of Christ who is Head over all things to the Church. This we do. imploring of the Great Shepherd of Israel our Lord and Redeemer, that both we and you may have wisdom and grace to be faithtil in his Covenant, and finally be admitted to the everlasting fellow- ship of saints ant angels, in the presence of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost .--- AMEN.
CHURCH ORDER AND STANDING RULES.
1. A Committee is annually appointed to assist the Pastor in examining those candidates for admission, who prefer this mode to an examination before the Church, at a regular meeting. 2. Those who bring letters of dismission and recommendation from other Churches, submit their letters to the Examining Cour- inittee. If approved, they are publicly propounded and admitted By a vote of the Church.

4. Members of other Churches residing within our limits, and wich- ing to commune with us for more than a year, are desired to request a removal of their church relation to ns as soon as may be convenient.
5. The ordinance of the Lord's Supper is administered, on the first Sabbath in January, March, May, July, September and No- vember; when all members of other Evangelical Churches, in regular standing, are invited to unite with us in celebrating the dying love of our common Lord and Saviour.
