Constitution : ) By-laws of the 26" mass. Reg! association
Preamble
The past members of the Twenty Sixth Massachusetts Regiment desirous of preserving the history of the Regiment and of affording an opportunity for an annual social reunion, at which time old scenes may be recalled and dear and once familiar faces remembered, do hereby form themselves into an association and agree to be governed by the following articles and By-laws.
Constitution :-
article I
This association shall be known as the Twenty Sixth Massachusetts Regiment association.

article III
any member of the Twenty Sixth Massachusetts Regiment or any person who served in the Battalion formed from the 26th Regiment, by forwarding his application to the Secretary and the payment of One Dollar admission fee may become a member of the association. The Officers of the association shall consist of a President; two Vice Presidents, a Secretary, Treasurer and an Executive Committee consisting of the President, Secretary and one member from each Company represented in the association, who shall be chosen annually by ballot, and candidates receiving a majority of the ballots cast shall be declared elected.

The annual Meeting shall be held on " The 18th day of October, at which time the Officers of the association shall be elected and the place of holding the next annual Meeting determined.
The term of Officers shall commence on the day following the election.
By Laws.
Section 1 It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings of the association.
Section TI It shall be the duty of the Vice Presidents in the order of their election to preside in the absence of the President and to perform all the duties of his office.
Section II It shall be the duty of the Secre- tary to keep a correct record of all the proceedings of the association: collect all moneys due the association and pay the same over to the Treasurer taking this receipt for the same. He shall keep a roll of mer- Vers and their address with the date of their admission. He shall also notify all members by adver- tisement or circular, of the annual or any Special Meeting. He shall make an annual report in writ- ing of the affairs of his depart- ment, and at the expiration of his term of office shall within ten days thereafter turn over all moneys, books, papers or other property in his possesion per- taining to his office, to his successor.

Section IK It shall be the duty of the Treas- uver to hola all funds of the associa- tion subject to the order of the Finance Committee or a vote of the association. He shall pay all bills against the association after being approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. He shall also make an annual report in writing of the affairs of his depart- ment and at the expiration of his term of office shall within ten days thereafter turn over all moneys, books, papers or other property in his possession pertaining to his office, to his successor It shall be the duty of the Executive Committee to make the necessary arrangements for the annual Reunion, also to act as the Finance Committee of the association. They shall have control of the monetary interests of the association, approve all bills paid by the Treasurer, and certify his accounts once in every year.

The President shall upon written application of not less than fifteen members call a special meeting of the association at any time- and he may do so at any time without such application if he shall think it advisable.
Section VII
The articles and By Laws may be amended at any regular annual Meet- ing of the association ty a vote of rest less than two-thirds of the mem- bers present and voting thereon.
