Respectfully submitted, J. B. Shaw, Treasurer.

Report of the Selectmen.

We are pleased to report that the expenditures for the year have been thirty-seven hundred and ten ($3,710.00) dollars less than the appropriations, out of which there must be paid the bill for electric lights from March 1 to June 1.

We should have been able to report a saving of seven hundred and fifty ($750.00) dollars more had it not been for the raising of the road by the Hastings bridge by order of the County Commis- sioners, and the payment of bills for breaking out roads in February and March 1893.

It will be necessary to expend a little more money on the bridges next year, although they are now in very good condition.

The matter of abolishing the grade crossings on the Ware River Railroad near the Burleigh place, and the New London Northern Railroad on the Three Rivers road, has been delayed for some un- accountable reason, and is expected to be arranged at an early date.
