Town Grant of land to Asa & Field


The town of Leverett has granted to Asa & Field a trait of land ling on the great hits so called containing four aires more or less bounded and described as follows (lo wit). begining at a whiteoak tree being the northeast corner of. land owned by Charles and Sidney Adams thenos ruining westerly on land owned by Salmon Clark one hundred rodby estimation to Sunderland line then south on Sunderland line to the northwest corner of Georg "V" Hobart land there easterly on sand Hobart land to a Think and stones being the N. West corner of land formerly owned by Jonah bowls called the Sugar lot theree Easterly on the north line of $2 Sugar lot to a stake and stones near a fine tree being the corner between Laid Adams of the sugar lot theres easterly on the line of sand adam, land to the first mentions boundary Leverett April 14,44 Moves Field Agents for Tila, Ball for the Town of Joseph ashley) Leverett

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the town of Leverett qualified to vole in elections and in town affairs to meet at the schoolhouse in District No. 1 in said town on Monday The fourth day of April. next at nine O clock in the fore noon then and there to act on the following artules. -


To choose a Moderator to preside in said meeting To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensuring To hear the annual report of the Select men and act thereon To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray the expences of the town for the year ensuring and make appropriations of the same. To determine the manner of repairing the high ways town ways and briges the year ensuring


To bring in their votes for a bounty Treasurer To see of the town will alter the line between School Districts No 1 and two so as to annex John Howard to District No 1 To see if the town will alter the line between School Districts No. 2 and six so as to anex Abner Gilbert, and Parsons Broad to District No, 2


To see if the town will grant School District No, 3 the priviledge. of becoming a body corporale for the purpose of choosing their officers and to transact all other District affairs


To see if the town will discontinue the old road near Josiah thies runing north to the old County road


And you are directed to serve. this warrant by posting up attested copies thereof at each of the public meeting houses in the said. Town seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the town of Leverett, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Schoolhouse in District No " in said. Town on Friday the eight day of July next, at three o'clock in the ? M. then and there to act on the following articles: To choose a Moderator to preside in said meeting


To see if the town will build a certain section of highway, laid out by the bounty Commissioners near Forter Hoberts, Also one other section


between Enos Graves of Isade Woodburys, and if they think exped: = ient to adopt some measures for the same


To see if the town will sell a certain tract or tracts of Lance lying wist =wardly of Asa L. Fields


And you are directed to serve, this warrant, by posting up atteste. copies thereof, at each of the Meeting houses in The said town, seven days at least before, the time for holding said meeting.

At a legal Meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Leverett qualified to vote in elections and town affairs met at the School house in District No 4 on the eight day of July 1842 and passed the following votes vyr.


- Chose John Woodbury Moderator to presid in said meeting - Voted to adjourn half an hour to view one section of a highway laine. out by the bounty Commissioners near Kiler Hoberts Met agreeable to adjournment


-Voted to leave discretionary the building or making a certain section of high way near Poter Hoberts in the hands of the feled men , as it is now surveyed and stabilised by the bounty Commissioners, or to petition for certain alterations


Volece to choose a committee consisting of three to sell a certain tract or Traits of town lance lying westwardly of Asa L. fields and are the following persons
