III. REPAIRS OF HIGHWAYS AND BRIDGES.


Sum raised by the Town,

This sum was assessed to be worked out in the several Highway Districts under the superintendence of the Sur- veyors of Highways. Whenever any individual so assessed, fails to work out his tax, the Surveyor of the District to which he is assigned, works it out, and receives his pay from the town ; - the tax is reassessed to the person thus failing, and returned into the town Treasury in money. The follow- ing are the amounts thus worked out by the several Sur- veyors : -
