The accounts of the Town Treasurer are cor- rect and I find on file the necessary orders of the Se- lectmen for money paid. The Tax Collector's ac- counts have been examined, and unpaid taxes listed

26

ANNUAL REPORT

have been checked by mailing notices to all delin- quents.

The sum of One Thousand Dollars was received from the Estate of Edwin H. Allen to be held in trust, the interest only to be used in the care of the Berk- ley Common Cemetery.

The school appropriation payments have been itemized instead of being put in as a lump sum as in the past in order that details of this large expendi- ture might be made more plain.

Various appropriation accounts have again been overdrawn, and it is recommended that the various departments authorizing expenditures exercise more care in keeping within their appropriations.

Difficulty was experienced in reconciling the amounts of taxes turned over to the Town Treasurer as recorded on the books of the Treasurer and Col- lector, and it is recommended that greater care be taken in keeping these records straight.

I hereby certify that the information contained in this report is complete and correct, to the best of my knowledge and belief.

FRANCIS F. G. ANDREWS,

Town Auditor.
