Ed.) Chapter 40, Sec- tion 5, Clause 34; to determine what, if any, sums so appropriated shall re- main available after December 31, 1945; to fix the term and rate of interest of any such bonds or notes; to fix such salaries as require to be fixed by the Town Meeting; and to impose such conditions upon the drawing of compen- sation from the Town as the Town may see fit; or take any other action in relation to any of the foregoing subjects.
ARTICLE 2. To see what action the Town will take on salaries and wages of officials and employees.
ARTICLE 3. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purposes of the Committee on Public Safety or take any other action in relation thereto.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
ARTICLE 4. (By Direction of Selectmen). To take any action the Town may desire upon the reports of the several Town Boards and Commit- tees and to appoint or change any Committee that the Town may think proper.
TOWN FINANCES
ARTICLE 5. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen, on and after January 1, 1946, to borrow in anticipation of the revenue of the year 1946.
ARTICLE 6. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote from surplus for the use of the Assessors in determining the tax rate for the year 1945 or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 7. (By Direction of Selectmen). . To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell or otherwise dispose of any real or personal property of which the Town may be possessed or seized and for which it has no further use, including all real estate of which the Town has possession or title for non-payment of taxes; to see if the Town will vote to authorize any other department to sell or otherwise dispose of any personal property in its possession and to determine the manner, or conditions of such sales, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 8. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Board of Selectmen to accept conveyances or mortgages of any real or personal property belonging to persons receiving relief from the Town and to dispose of said property in the manner they may judge for the Town's best interest and to authorize them to discharge any encumbrances on said property if they consider it for the best interest of the Town so to do, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the discharging of such encumbrances.
LEGISLATION
ARTICLE 9. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what action the Town will take in regard to the proposed Laban Pratt Hospital.
ARTICLE 10. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what action the Town will take in regard to constructing or operating a system of. sewers.
STREETS AND SIDEWALKS
ARTICLE 11. (On Petition and by Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will accept the several reports of the Selectmen laying out as Town

ways the following designated private ways and parts of ways or any of them, to wit :-
(a) Blake Road
(b) Brae Road
(c) Clematis Avenue from Pleasantview Avenue to Idlewell Boulevard
(d) Garey Street from 925 Commercial Street to a Dead End
(e) High Street Place
(f) Off 45 Humphrey Street or 131 Lake Street, 610 feet
(g) Irving Road from Weyham Road to Fuller Road
(h) Joyce Avenue from Front Street approximately 350 feet
(i) Riverbank Road
(j) Twilight Path
(k) Welland Road from Summer Street approximately 800 feet easterly
(1) Whitcomb Terrace from Pond Street to the end of Whitcomb Terrace
(m) Wright Street from a starting at White Street to a point ending at the South corner of Property of W. McIntyre
or any portion of said ways and will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift or purchase or take by right of eminent domain in fee or otherwise for all purposes of a public street and highway in and over each of said streets as so laid out and accepted, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the working of each of the above named streets including the acquisition of the fee above referred to and for the building of any bridges, drains and conduits or securing easements which may be necessary in connection therewith and to see whether the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept deeds of any reservation strips existing in connection with any of said streets, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 12. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for resurfacing, repairing or re- construction by the Street Department or under the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 90 for maintaining, repairing and improving the following streets or any portion thereof :
Commercial Street - from Middle Street to Commercial Square Pleasant Street - from Washington Street to Pine Street
or if deemed advisable by the Massachusetts Department of Public Works, any other street in the Town, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 13. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will take any action upon the report of the Committee on the widening of Broad Street, made in the Town Report of the year 1931, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of widen- ing Broad Street or any portion thereof.
ARTICLE 14. (On Petition of Ellsworth Holbrook and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of providing asphalt sidewalk, curbing and catch basins with proper drainage on Blanchard Road or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 15. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to sell or otherwise dispose of, to Joseph P. Donaldson, a parcel of land on the southerly corner of James Road, at Commercial Street in accordance with a plan of Russell H. Whiting, Town Engineer, dated December 18, 1944, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 16. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept an easement on its behalf from Walcott J. Edwards on Keating Circle - in accordance with a plan of Russell H. Whiting, Town Engineer, dated December 21, 1944, for drainage purposes or take any other action in relation thereto.
GOVERNMENTAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES ARTICLE 17. (On Petition of Alfred W. Cadman and Others). To

see if the Town will vote to accept General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 115, Section 3A which provides -
"In a city or town which has duly accepted this section, no almoner or member of the board of public welfare, or office performing similar duties, or any agent of any of them, shall directly or indirectly act as agent or disbursing officer of the aldermen or selectmen for the pay- ment of state or military aid or soldiers' relief; provided, that this section shall not operate to prevent selectmen in towns who are also members of boards of public welfare from acting in their capacity as selectmen or through an agent acting for the selectmen.
ARTICLE 18. (On Petition of Alfred W. Cadman and Others). To see if the Town will vote to provide for a board of trustees to have charge and control of construction, custody and care of any memorial commemorating the services and sacrifices of the soldiers, sailors and marines who have served their country in war in accordance with the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 41, Section 105, the first election of such board to take place in 1946.
ARTICLE 19. (By. Planning Board). To see if the Town will vote to provide for the appointment of an inspector of wires in accordance with the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 166, Section 32 or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 20. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to amend its By-Laws by striking out Section 202 and substitute for it the following, so that said section shall read as follows:
Section 202. The Selectmen shall cause the reports of the various Town Officers, Boards and Committees to be printed and shall arrange for their distribution before the Annual Town Meeting in such man- ner as they deem in the best interest of the Town.
ARTICLE 21. (On Petition of Harold S. Gardner and Others). To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 31 of the General Laws of Massachusetts, and all amendments thereto, as applicable to the labor and official service of the Town, and to appropriate the sum of three hundred (300) dollars for the necessary labor registration cost, and for the purpose of placing under classified civil service all employees of the Town not already so classified by the previous acceptance of other provisions of the law, or take any other action in relation thereto.
PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS
ARTICLE 22. (By Request of Park Commissioners). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of acquiring for park purposes the land abutting Bradford Hawes Park, belong- ing to Mr. David Westcott and containing about 71,000 square feet and to see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to take by pur- chase, gift or by eminent domain in fee whatever land may be necessary for this purpose to take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 23. (On Petition of Daniel Reidy and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of acquiring for park purposes the land located on the northeasterly side of Commercial Street and owned by Jessie H. Lovell, Hugh F. Burgess, Alfonso Pecoraro, Maria Dunbar and others, and to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,000.00 for the use of a committee to be appointed by the moderator to work with the Park Commissioners in preparing plans and details preparatory to reporting at the next Annual Town Meeting, or take any other action in relation thereto.
MISCELLANEOUS
ARTICLE 24. (By Request of Post-War Planning Committee). To see what action the Town will take to continue the Post-War Planning Com- mittee, or like Committee and what instructions and authority it will grant and what sum of money it will vote to raise and appropriate for these pur- poses.

ARTICLE 25. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what action the Town will take in regard to repairing the interior and exterior of the Town Hall.
ARTICLE 26. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds in the treasury a sum of money for the purchase of war bonds or other bonds that are legal investments for savings banks for a Post-War rehabilitation fund in accord- ance with the provisions of Chapter 5 of the Acts of 1943 or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 27. (On Petition of Robert M. Pratt and Others). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money sufficient to recondition the Grand Army monument located in the Old North Cemetery in North Weymouth, and that the Moderator appoint a committee to carry out the purpose of this article or take any action relating thereto.
ARTICLE 28. (On Petition of Emerson R. Dizer, Town Accountant). To see if the Town will vote to petition the Director of Accounts for the installation of an accounting system.
ARTICLE 29. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept as a gift from John F. Vining, Jr. a picture of Noah Vining who served as Selectman of the Town for 26 terms from 1846 to 1883, to be placed in the Town Hall or take any other action in relation thereto.
