REPORT OF TOWN CLERK
EXCERPTS FROM TOWN MEETING RECORDS 1943
(January 8th)
It was voted to move the building in the rear of the Old Town Hall to land of J. J. Beaton Co. on Main Street to be used as an Observation Post. The remodeling and moving to be done under the supervision of the following committee: Earl B. Ware, Kenneth E. Shaw and John E. Johnson.
The sum of $250.00 was appropriated to cover the expense.
(March 1st)
It was voted that the Dog Fund be appropriated for the Free Public Library.
John F. Tubman was chosen to act as Town Director for County Aid to Agriculture.
It was voted to rescind the action taken October 19, 1942 regarding sirens, and the appropriation of $1,200.00 be returned to the Town Treasury. It was then voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,200.00 to purchase an Alarm System under the supervision of the Chief of Police, Chief of the Fire Department and the Chief Air Raid Warden, with the approval of the Board of Select- men.
A Resolution in memory of Frank E. Barrows was read by Earl E. Boardway, and adopted by the Meeting.
