Report of the TOWN CLERK


ABBREVIATED PROCEEDINGS OF THE TOWN MEETINGS DURING THE YEAR 1945


FEBRUARY 5, 1945


Article 1-Voted to lay on table until April Meeting.


Article II-See list of appropriations.


Article III-Voted to warn Town Meeting's the same as in former years.


Article IV-Voted that the Selectmen be authorized to contract with the State Highway Commissioners for the construction of any road.


Article V-Voted the Treasurer be authorized with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money.


Article VI-Voted to appropriate $2,000.00 for the pre- vention and extinguishment of fires.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING-MAY 29, 1945


Article I-Voted to accept the sum of $100.00 from the estitate of Joseph Mason, the income to be used for the per- petual care of the Mason Lot in Woodlawn Cemetery.


Article II-Voted to authorize the Selectmen to dispose of the Observation Tower and Civilian Defense Material.


Article III-Voted the Town do authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1st, 1945 and to issue a note or notes therefor payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with provisions of Sec. 17, Chap. 44 of General Laws and any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of the financial year be- ginning January 1, 1945.


Voted to dissolve the Meeting.

Article I-Voted to transfer $2,000.00 from the Surplus Revenue to the Snow Removal Fund. Vote Unanimous.


Article II-Voted to transfer $1,000.00 from the Ma- chinery Rental to Machinery Maintenance Account. Vote Unanimous.


Article III-Voted to appropriate $8,500.00 to buy a Power Grader for Highway and Snow Work, $2,500.00 down payment to be taken from Machinery Rentals Account, the balance to be paid annually in 4 serial notes of $1,500.00 each. These notes to be paid from Machinery Rental Ac- count. Vote Unanimous.


Article IV-Voted to accept $100.00 from Mrs. Mary Thompson, the income to be used for the perpetual care of the Charles Howard Thompson lot in Woodlawn Ceme- tery.


Article V-Voted to accept $100.00 from Mrs. Ruth Lit- tle, the income to be used for the perpetual care of the Richard Oehme lot in Parker Cemetery.
