REGULATIONS FOR CIRCULATION OF BOOKS.


Any resident of Southbridge is entitled to take books from the Library on subscribing to the regulations.


Persons temporarily resident may take books provided they furnish sufficient guarantee or make a deposit of two dollars, which sum shall be returned upon the return of the card to the Library.


The borrower's card must be presented when a book is drawn, returned, or renewed.


Notice of the loss of a card must be left at the Library a week before a new card will be given out. Or, a lost card will be replaced at once upon the payment of 5 cents.


Two books may be taken at a time upon one card, but only one of the two may be a work of fiction or an unbound magazine.


A book may not be exchanged the same day that it is drawn


Books, except those otherwise marked, may be kept two weeks and may then be renewed for two weeks more. One week books may not be kept in one household longer than that time and may not be renewed.


A fine of two cents a day will be charged for each Library day that a book is kept over time. Any person owing a fine shall draw a book but once while the fine remains due, and the borrower's card shall thereafter be retained at the Library until the fine is paid.


No pen or pencil marks shall be made on any book.


The person to whom a book is charged shall be held respon- sible for loss or injury beyond reasonable wear: when a set is broken by the loss of a book, this responsibility shall ex- tend to the whole set.


A person wishing to draw a book not fiction which is out of the Library, may, by leaving a postal card be notified of its return and have it retained for not more than 24 hours. otherwise no book shall be laid aside for any reader.
