ANNUAL REPORT
Report of LIBRARIAN
To the Trustees of Fobes Memorial Library:
At the close of my first year as Librarian, I wish to thank you for your whole hearted cooperation. It was a privilege to attend the Institute for small town librarians last spring.
I greatly appreciate the effort the Janitor has made in keeping the building comfortable.
To Miss Dorothy P. Day, I am grateful for her assist- ance and all the time she has given in typing the catalogue cards for filing, thus aiding me in trying to bring our sys- tem up-to-date.
For holding, and to better display the picture books, Mr. John Day has made two new book racks.
A new application card system has been put into effect. I am pleased to report I have loaned reference books into homes of aged and disabled folks, enabling them to bet- ter pursue their individual interests.
There were a few gifts of books for which on behalf of the Trustees I wish to thank Miss Laura Snay, Mrs. John Neelley and Mrs. Merritt Peck. Mrs. Jane Mendell of Danielson, Conn., gave early histories of Spencer, North Brookfield and Rutland: also Mr. Earle Parker, formerly of Barre, gave three scrap books containing clippings of activ- ities in Coldbrook in past years.
There has been a total circulation of books and magazines of 1,262.

Magazines
On the reading table are 20 magazines and publica- tions, including 2 youth magazines and 2 children's maga- zines.
On closing this report, I wish to invite each and every taxpayer in the Town of Oakham to come into the Fobes Memorial Library and see what a nice place it is, and by your interest, the Trustees and your Librarian will be able to keep your library up-to-date and of value to you.
Yours for better service,
MRS. LILA C. WILBUR, Librarian
