AUDITORS' STATEMENT
The undersigned Auditors of the Town of Harwich wish to make some explanation of the article on following page, signed by Willie L. Kelley, in relation to his Treasurer's and Tax Collector's Account of 1923.
These accounts we have never been able to obtain, although the property of the town. Mr. Kelley refuses to deliver same for an audit, although requested to do so by Mr. Dow, one of the State Commissioners, and also refused on two requests by the Town Auditors.
(Signed) FRANK I. SHACKLEY, ARTHUR M. NICHOLS, Auditors.
Tax Collector's Report
In the Annual Town Report last year I reported amount shown on Assessors' Tax Warrant as committed to me for collection as $78,528.42, which was correct. After report had gone to printer I found that amount really to be collected was around $2,900 more than called for by Warrant. As amount of error has not yet been exactly shown the matter has been referred to State Auditors for attention on their visit this year and ac- count will then be adjusted and closed.
I report at this time :
