It is ordered that the rate for the ministers wood shall be made for 30 Cords w" ye other rate for his main- tainance is made & yt all on the west syde of the river shall pay theire proportions by the last of Febr: yerly & the rest of the towne by the last of Maye & in Cass any person shall neglect to paye his said rate the Select men shall give warante to the Constable to destraine eight shillings per Corde to procure it & for this Instant yere there shall be a rate for 30 Cords & paid as abovesaid


Its orderd that in Cass any person shall be defective in attending the Sirvey's: warning (they giveing three dayes) every such person shall forfit 28-6ª per daye for every defect of any man that shall not attend as above- said & for defect of teames proportionable to the afore- said 28-6ª per person to be gatherd by warant from the Select men Directed to the Constable

Wheras there are some person or persons wch Claime medow in our greate meadow upon a Conditionall grante viz. former grants being made up or in such lik termes & some of our towne Inhabitants Complaining that they fall short of theire measur according to grante the towne therefore gives full power to the Select men to take notic of any such Complaint & Releive them by Comon medow which lyeth in the abovesaid greate medow- -


* We whose Names are underwritn being Appointed a Comitte to make & Compleate an exchang of land with John Edwards according to a towne order doe hereby declare that we have & doe hereby Aggree as followeth viz all that land be it more or less being a Corner of Towne Comon lying upon Beverly Lyne on the one syde & Mordica Larcoms: land & Leiutenant Dodges land on the other syde to a Redoake marked on foure syds & a heape of stones about it about 73 poles from the abovesd : lyne leaveing & excepting two acres from said Red oake to Mordica Larcom his Corner according to bounds & from the abovesd: Red oake as the trees are marked to a white oake Southeasterly nere Beverly lyne marked with W & E & set with a heape of stones & so to Beverly lyne abovesd: To have & to hold to the aforesd: John Edwards & his heirs forever-

The towne being sensible that by Reason of many of our Ipswich Neighbrs: constant coming to our meetting our Inhabitants are very much burthened & thronged & that there hath bin greate disorder occassioned thereby & that notwithstanding they have bin fairely treated by the Select men about the mater yet in stead of complying with that which is eaquall & Just upon that account they are faln off from that which they themselves did formerly upon their owne motion pretend to doe in referance to the ministry for prevention thereof for the futher the towne do fully impower the Select men to Agree with them upon such termes as they shall see meet & in Cass they will not comply then to discharge them from Coming

Pond and Westward of the pine tree which is the Corner bound between Ipswich & Manchester and so straight over to a white oake tree standing in or neare to the lyne from the end of the said pond to Chubbs Creek marked with W & we have agreed to begin the devitionall lyne of bounds between us at the said white oak tree aforesd: which tree is set about with stones & so to run upon a straight lyne to the stump of a great pine tree in or near to Ipswich lyne called and knowne by the name of Dodges tree & near about upon a square from the said white oak at the end of the Sd: pond & all that part of Sd: Comon which leyeth Eastward of Sd: lyne doth be- long to Manchester & that part which leyeth westerly doth belong to Wenham & this to be a finall settlement of the bounds of our towneships for ever as witness our hands the day & year above written

Voted that the streame or river is Granted to Ensign Fairefield & partners in the sawe mill which formerly stood betwixt said Fairefields land & the Widow Whites land to build a Corne mill & to any others that shall Joyne with them provided said mill be caried on with conveinant Speed.


Voted that all persons are hereby prohibited from fell- ing any timber upon our Comon to Cary out of towne to sell eyther in shingle or board or any other wayes upon the peanalty of twentie shillings per tree to be paid to the towne: to be leaveid by warant from the Select men to the Constable| or recovered by waye of Action.

Voted that whereas there was a liberty Granted to En- signe Fairefield &c: to set up a Corne mill where the Sawe mill formerly stood & persons not Appearing to Carry on said mill the towne nowe grante liberty to Leiventent John Dodg & Thomas Fiske Seni": of the brooke where said Dodges Sawe mill nowe Stand as also so much of that pointe of land on the Easterly side of the Carte waye as shall be conveinant for the accomada- tion of a Corne mill & Sawe mill as long as said persons or theire heires shall maintaine a Corne mill there for the benefit of the towne as also liberty to flowe or raise Pleasant Pond Easterly from Richard Dodges howse to turne that streame into Longham medow for the Inlarg- ment of that brooke.
