* At A meetting of the Selectmen 8th: of March 1686-7. The Select men measured out five acres & one hundered & seaven & twentie pole of John Dodges land in the Neck for the accommodation of a high waye on the Southerly side of his land which he bought of John Fiske formerly Richard Huttns being fourteen poles in breadth from the Southwesterly Corner & from thenc twenty nine pole to a white oake marked & from thenc upon a line to a greate rock about fortie seaven pole &1/2 & from said rock upon a lyne to John Carpenters Southeasterly Corner. & in parte satisfaction to said Dodg they have laid out to him two acres of Swamp lying in a tryangle Joyning to ye said Dodges bounds beginning said angle at a stake & heape of stones & so on to another heape of stones about

* At a metting of the Select men Janauary 20th 87-8- they then layd out a waye to our metting house for the Inhabitants of the East end of our towne cald the neck &c. where we Judg it most convejnant for them to Ride or goe to meeting which were pettitioners for it at the last inferir: Court of Pleas at Salem the waye for them to begin is by Jnº: Denise his house & so as the path leadeth to the Widow Whites house & so by the South syde of said house takeing the path as it formerly went to Serjent Whites Bridg & so over the river where formerly it was & then as the path leadeth to the nearest place of the Country Roade where Capt Smiths land & Serjent Huttens land parteth & so into the Countrey Roade this was don with the Allowance of the owners of the land. it is to be understood that the pettitioners are to make Gates Convejnant & to bridg upon theire owne Cost & to maintaine them from time to time.
