Gen., (merchant and treasurer) mein. ch, and freeman 1011 ; men. artill. co.1912; he had six children: avmed a house. ware- house and brewhouse, boun led by the Bay on the cast, Valemine Hill, Ilen- ry Webb and the Cove on the north, James Oliver on the west, State st. in the south : he owned both sides of Merchants Row, Butlers Raw, &c , also owned south at Jahn Chamberlain with James Bil on his north west, and the cantmon st. north cast ; he removed to Barnstable and died Dee 20, 1651, aged st years.

* Underhill John, Capt., (deputy in 1631) took the oath 1051 ; mem. artill. co. 1637 ; disarmed 1637 ; he removed to Wheelwright's gathering at Dover, in 1038; he was exiled and again received into the body of the church, he sustained a queer character among the Puritans ; in Hiof the Matinerve In- dians gave him 150 acres of land, which has ever since remained in the family ; it is supposed he thed at Oyster Bay in 1672.


Upsall or Upshall, Nicholas, took the oath in 1030; mem. artill. co. 1637; owned from Hanover st to the water on the no'east side of Richmond st, he left his property to his two daughters, wite of Wi. Greenough and the wife of Joseph Cuck. Richmond st. was laid out in 1036. was fined £20 and eviled for carrying food to two quaker women in prison ; they being confini- en there for quakerism. he returned in 6 years from Plymouth ; died Ang. 20, 1666.


Usher Hezekiah took the oath 1658; settled in Boston 1616 ; mem. artill. co. 143 -; dio 1 May 1626 ; owiel a house and land ; the highway being east; Mr. Bellingham's garden, west : Mr. Cotton's garden, north ; wluch was afterwards sold to Thomas Seullow ; he was representative from Billerica, 1671, 2 and 3.


Vane Henry, (Gav.) arrived in Boston, Oct. 8, 1635 : took the oath 1636 ; hand his place of business on Aun st., northeast of Wm. Burnell ; he had " a small house which he lived in, at the side of the hill, alwive Queen st, (Court) which he gave to Rev. John Cotton," at the time he returned to England; he was chosen Gov. Webber Thomas. (mariner) mom. ch. 1613: owned a lot near the Exchange Coffee house, 71 by 34 feet ; bought of Wi. Paraos, carpenter ; he also owned a lot near the south marsh, near to Henry Webb and James Davis. Weeden Edwe'd, had a son Sammel born 1641.
