LEXINGTON PAINT,
MANUFACTURED BY THE
LEXINGTON MINERAL PAINT CO.
JOHN SULLY, - - - Superintendent.
SELLING AGENTS.
Jerome W. Tyler, W. R. Stockbridge.
The Lexington Paint after a thorough test of over ten years, is offered to the public, as the best and cheapest paint in the market. It is not an Ochre, it is a Mineral of peculiar composition, the bas- is of which is Silica, Alumina, Oxide of Iron and Manganese, form- ing a fine soft powder of a beautiful drab color. The Lexington Paint is superior for all purposes for which Paints are used. For Iron, Wood and Stone ; for Carriage Bodies and Steam Cars; for Tin and other Metals; also, for Flat Roofs. It is equal to White Lead in its adhesiveness, elasticity, and ease of application, flowing perfectly free from the brush, while it requires by actual test 28 per cent less oil than the best Foreign or Native Ochres and covers much more surface. It does not contain any perishable substance, and its durability is unsurpassed. The large quantity of Manga- nese in its composition renders any artificial drier unnecessary. It is very valuable for paper manufacturers.
This paint is put up in barrels and half barrels, and stamped with the Companies' Trade Mark. A large number of testimoni- als from the best painters may be seen at the office of the Company.
Extracts from Testimonials.
A. A. HAYES, Assayer, says this paint is of the greatest value for buildings, of brick, or wood, and for hulls of vessels of wood or iron.
C. A. SAWYER, painter, says, have used it for two years and find it superior to any other mineral paint.
J. P. SQUIRE & Co., say, we have used your paint extensively and do not hesitate to say it is the best paint we have ever used.
S. A. DAVIS, carriage builder, says, we have used it on light and heavy car- riages, of different colors, and would recommend it to carriage and car builders generally.
W. J. McPHERSON, painter and decorator, says, your paint is very satisfac- tory for tinting and painting having qualities for covering and durability not excelled by any similar article.
CHAS. SAFFORD, painter, says, I find yours is the best mineral paint now in use.
T. D. MORRIS, painter and decorator, says, I incline to the opinion that for all purposes where a saving of oil is desirable, and also as a foundation for carriage bodies it will be valuable, and for tinting walls of churches, halls, and public buildings.
THE SELECTMEN of Lexington, say, we have painted several school build- ings and town hall, with different tints of the Lexington paint, and are much pleased and gratified with the results and present colors of the houses.
CAPT, GEO. WALSH, says, I find your paint without a rival in all the prop- erties that constitute an economical and imperishable good paint.
