CONCERNING FIRE ALARMS
First alarm to be given by striking four rounds on all bells
Second alarm to be given by striking three blows on all bells followed by one or more rounds of box number
Third alarm to be given by striking five blows on all bells followed by box number
Calls for the assistance from Boston by striking ten blows, followed by box number on all bells
The recall signal is to be given by striking two blows on all bells, except when a second box has been given before the recall signal of the first box has been sounded, then the recall will be two blows fol- lowed by the box number
If before the recall is sounded for a first alarm from a given box, an alarm is received from another box responding to the alarm from the first box, all companies that would respond to a second alarm from the first box will answer the alarm from the second box
In case a third alarm has been given and before the recall signal is sounded, an alarm should be rung from another box, all unemployed companies will re- spond, also engine company from Boston which would respond in case a call for assistance had been rung from that box
