The above notice was posted near the outer door of of the Universalist Meeting house in Orleans twenty for days before said sale, and the news were sold to the highers bidder by D.S. Steele a licenced auctioners at that time to Faceman Down for the Society. Orleans April 24 1865.

Know all men by these presents that I Dovic Taylor of Orleans in the County of Barnstable in consideration of thirty dollars paid me by Elisha Gole Simeon Higgin and Obed Busby of said Orleans for and in behalf of The members and others who are about to build a Universalist meeting house in said aleans the recip. where of I do hereby acknowledge do hereby give grant sell and convey unto the said Elisha Cole Simeon Hing is Habe a Crosby and other proprietors aforesaid forever a certain track of land situated in sacde aleano con- - training forty rods more or less begining at the nor the west corner of the premises at a stoke and stones by the road thence easterly eight rods by the road to a stake and stones theme south westerly five rods more or less to a stoke and stones. thene west- nor - thirty eight rods to a stake and stones there northerty and easterly five rods more or less to the first- men - toned found. with all the priveleges & affectionances to the same belonging. the said proprietors are to make the fence adjoining said fremeses and after. it is made I am to maintain one half part of it. To have and tohold the afour granted premisis to the said Elisha Simeon & Ober and other proprietors and assigns to them and their use & behoof forever. And I for myself and my hers executors or admin - istrators do covenant with the said Elisha Simeon & Obed and other proprietors as aforesaid their heirs and assigns. In consideration of twenty dollars fraise by the proprietors of the universalist dading house in said Orleans, the receipt where of is hereby acknowledge do hereby give grans bargain sell and convey unto the said, proprieton their heres and assigns forever a los of land situated in said Orleans containing one third of an acre more or less, and is founded on the west by said Meeting house los, on the north by a road on the east by a road and on the south by my other land as the fence now stands.


To have and to hold the above granted premises with the privileges and appartenances there to belonging to the said Proprietors their heres and assigns to them and their heres use and behoof forever, And I tha said Alfred for myself and my heirs executors and administrators do covenant with the said proprietor their heirs and assigns, that I am lawfully seized in fee of the afore granted Premises; that they are free from all incunfrances. That I have good night to sell and convey the same to the said proprieties as afoursaid; and that I will and my heris executions and administrators shall Warrent and Defend the som to the said Proprietors their heirs and assegno forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons
