CITY OF NEWBURYPORT
"An Ordinance amending Chapter 19A of the Revised Ordinance of the City of entitled Ordinance for the City of Newburyport regarding appointments and confirm- ationof Reserve Officers and Regular Police officers of the City of Newburyport by adding a new section after section 2.
Sec. 3. That no officer of the regular or reserve police force shall be promoted to the position of captain of the watch, keeper of the lockup by night or other promotions without first being appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority of the members of the City Council.
This amendment to the Chapter 19A of the ordinances shall take effect upon its final passage by the City Council.
