Report of Registrars of Voters


The Registrars of Voters have held twenty-two meetings during the year. The first meeting was held July 2, 1907, for the purpose of arranging for a special election ordered for July 23rd, 1907-the Questions were-"Shall the City of Melrose issue bonds to the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars for the purpose of purchasing the land and constructing city stables, as authorized by the Board of Aldermen by an order, numbered 3,882, which was duly ordained by said Board on May 10, 1907, A. D., and duly approved by the Mayor?" Yes or No. Defeated-Yes, 271, No, 519, Blanks, 11, Total, 801. "Shall the City of Melrose issue bonds to the amount of fifteen thousand dollars for continuous edgestones, as author- ized by the Board of Aldermen by an order numbered 3,834 which was duly ordained by said Board on May 16, 1907, A.
