UNION STONE CO. BOSTON, MASS.

Machinist,

Should have a UNION STONE, mounted in the Patent OIL-STONE HOLDER. Price of Holder, 25 cents. Price of Stone, 60 cents. Price of Stone and Holder, 75 cents.

The UNION Stones are made in various degrees of fineness and hardness, to suit all trades. A number is attached to each Stone to designate the use for which it is intended, as explained below. The same number indicates the same. quality in all cases.

Nos. 24 and 36 are for cleaning castings and other rough work. 24 is a little coarser than 36. No. 6) is for sharpening machinists' tools, and will do it as rapidly as an ordinary grindstone. In finishing metals it is equal to the second-cut file.

No. 80 is for sharpening carpenters' and wood-workers' tools, in place of a grindstone. It is invaluable for outside jobs, where a grindstone is not available.

In finishing metals it is equal to smooth-cut files.

No. 100 is designed especially for household use. and mounted on the Patent Oil-Stone Stand, will be found cheaper and superior to the family grindstone. It will give a rough edge about right for shoe tools.

No. 120 is for whetting carpenters' and other tools, and will produce a fine edge. It is equal to dead smooth-cut files, for fine finish.

F. F. will produce a very keen. fine edge, is an excellent razor hone, and is superior to emery sticks, paper, or crocus cloth, for polishing metals.

FOR SALE AT THE PRINCIPAL HARDWARE AND TOOL STORES.
