PREFACE.
In issuing the thirteenth volume of the WALTHAM AND WATERTOWN DIRECTORY, the publishers take pleasure in acknowledging their indebted- ness to the many patrons of the work for their valuable support, which has contributed so much to its compilation and success.
An examination of its pages will show that a large proportion of the business concerns of both places are represented in its advertising depart- ment, as well as many of the live Boston houses. An advertisement in the Directory is sure to be criticised and commented upon, not only by the advertisers themselves, but more so by those who are not patrons, and these comments are just what advertisers desire, as it is proof to them that their object has been attained. The Directory is not glanced at and then thrown aside, as is almost every other advertising medium, but it is a continual book of reference in every business house and family in the city it represents, as well as the large number of cities in which it is circulated outside of its home.
A careful inspection of its pages will also show many changes from its previous volumes and much new matter, valuable to all residents.
To all who have, by their courtesy, assisted our agents while can- vassing for the information contained in this work, and to our patrons, we return our sincere thanks.
Respectfully, LITTLEFIELD & RADFORD,
15 Court Square, Boston.
