Oornelia [Cornelia ?], daught. of Joseph Andruss. Undoubtedly the first letter of the name, intended for C, was left unfin- ished. The town and church records note the death of the child, but do not give her name. The church record has: "A child of Mr Joseph Andrus of New Hartford"-

Jesse Bradley. A Revolutionary soldier -out with the militia several days in 1780 when 16 years old. He was the last soldier of that war residing in Lee to pass away.

Samuel Dorr. A Revolutionary soldier -Conn. Line-pensioned. He settled in Lee 1802.


Asahel Foot. A Revolutionary soldier - served two 3 months enlistments in regiments raised to reinforce the Conti- nental Army-pensioned.

The large monument commemorates a Sandisfield family. All were buried there, except Mrs. Deming, whence, some years after, their remains were brought to Lee. Mrs. Deming died in Becket, but was buried in Lee. Mrs. Mary Smith died in Lee, but was first buried in Sandisfield.

John Keep. A Revolutionary soldier -pensioned for service with "Mass. State Troops." He removed from Salisbury, Conn. to Lee in the year 1788.


Reuben Marsh. A Revolutionary soldier -· served several short enlistments in 1776 and 1777, aggregating 9 months. He re- moved from Sturbridge to Lee during the war, and in Oct. 1781 marched to Stillwater with Capt. Yale's company of Lee and Lenox men, serving 12 days- pensioned.


Abijah Merrell. A Revolutionary sol- dier-militia service. He removed from Tyringham to Lee about 1788.


The poetical lines on Caroline A. Mer- rell's gravestone are:


Parents & brothers, have you cause to mourn,


That one you loved, was early called away, Her dust but sleeps beneath the marble urn Her Spirit dwells where love knows no decay, Let then this thought suppress each rising sigh,
