1790 At a meeting of the proprietors and parishioners of St.


Andrew's Church in Scituate, on Sunday, after evening service the nineteenth day of September 1790 for the purpose of chusing a Lay Deputy to represent the said church in a State Convention to consist of clerical and lay deputies, to be holden at Salem in the County of Essex, on Tuesday the fifth day of October next, agreeable to the request and direction of the Reverend Doct !. Bass, Rector of St. Paul's in Newbury- Port : Present the minister and most of the parishioners.


Doct !. Charles Stockbridge was unanimously chosen a deputy to represent the church of St. Andrews in the Convention afore- said. It was voted at the same time by the parishioners afore- said that if anything should intervene or take place so that the said Dr. Charles Stockbridge could not attend the said Conven- tion another person should be chosen to supply his place ; ac- cordingly Mr. Benjamin Mann was unanimously chosen for that purpose at the same time.

Andrew's Church in Scituate on Monday August 13th 1792 by several adjournments from May 21 1792 : Present the minister and most of the parishioners.


Voted : to confirm the vote of the 21st. of May last relative to the repairing the Church of St. Andrews and Glebe-house and to raise the sum of Thirty pounds for that purpose.


Voted : that the sum of Thirty pounds for repairs shall be as- sessed on the several proprietors and parishioners of St. An- drew's Church in proportion to each person's estate according to the method they are assessed in their taxes to the town and State.

> Voted : to have instrumental music as well as vocal at Divine Service in St. Andrew's Church if it can be conveniently obtained.


Voted : to choose a committee to procure a bass viol and some suitable person to play upon it.


Voted : that Mr. Samuel Donnel, Mr. Isaac Perry and Mr. Nathanael Sylvester be a committee for that purpose.


Voted : that this meeting be adjourned to Monday the seventh day of July next.

1795. At a meeting of the proprietors and parishioners of St.


Andrew's Church in Scituate on Thursday February 19, 1795 (by several adjournments from May 19th. 1794) Present the minister and a number of the parishioners.


Voted : that the assessors of St. Andrew's Church in Scituate assess the parishioners only for what has already been laid out for the repairs of said church and glebe and not from the hundred dollars formerly voted: also that Mr. Job Curtis be added to the former assessors to assist in the assessment.
