He also commanded a vessel running from Cronstadt to New Orleans and St. Petersburg, and another running from New York to South American ports. Resided on Washington street at end of Oak- land avenue, where his widow now resides.

Hester, was fa. of Joseph, who sett. in that part of Scituate, now Hanover, abt. 1695, and was the ancestor of most of the families of Bates' in Hanover, and its vicinity.
