There is no substitute for the good old-fashioned habit of Saving. You will find great comfort and satisfaction in accumulating a reserve fund which will give you financial security and be readily available when needed.
COMMERCIAL CHECKING ACCOUNTS
This is designed for business men and women and those who write a num- ber of checks a month. It is especially suited to those who carry a moderate or large balance.
CHECKMASTER ACCOUNTS
You can walk into our bank, go to the convenient Checkmaster office and open an account with $5, $50 or any amount you wish. When you have signed your signature card, and the deposit ticket is filled in, the book of Checkmaster checks is handed to you, all neatly bound and with your name neatly printed on each check, plus your name in gold on a handsome wallet.
REGISTER CHECKS
For those who do not have a checking account, Register Checks up to $200 are ideal for paying bills and sending money. You make them out and sign them yourself. Available to everyone at all offices at a minimum fee. Good money management needs good control.
COLLECTION DEPARTMENT
The prompt collection of domestic drafts, notes, trade acceptances and documentary items greatly facilitates business dealing with our commercial clients. Outside of Lowell we use our extensive correspondent connections in all parts of the United States, as well as in foreign countries for your service.
DRIVE-IN-BANKING
At two of the Union's branch banks, the Wamesit and the West Central- ville, customers may use the Drive-In privilege of banking without stepping out of their cars.
Simply drive up to the window and be waited on promptly by this "auto- matic" method of streamlined service. It is not necessary to have a car, of course, to do business. Customers within walking distance will find the same services available as at any of our other branches.
BANKING-BY-MAIL
No matter where you live you can maintain an account with the Union National Bank of Lowell by mail. Special Banking-By-Mail envelopes are furnished for your convenience and you will save time, energy and transporta- tion costs.
In this way, every mail box becomes a depositing window for the service of your account.
AFTER BANK HOURS
Our Night Depository is operated for the convenience of our depositors. If your business leaves you with money to be deposited after banking hours, you can safely make your deposit from the outside of our parent bank build- ing, 61 Merrimack Street, or at the Wamesit or West Centralville Branches, any hour of the day or night. A protection service for store business and others who accumulate cash and are unable to deposit during regular banking hours.
WITHHOLDING TAX SERVICE
An official U. S. government receipt will be issued by us to any employer on receipt of Withholding Tax Funds which we will transmit to the Treasury Department without charge to you.
Many business houses find it convenient to accumulate the required amount by depositing it in a special Withholding Tax Account each pay day. This service is for the convenience of our customers.
TRAVELERS CHEQUES
We supply Travelers Cheques in convenient denominations. They con- stitute a safe and simple way to carry funds when traveling. They are readily accepted in hotels, shops and on shipboard. These cheques may be purchased at any of our offices. For your special protection, only You can cash them.
SECURITIES AND INVESTMENTS
At the request of our customers, we handle the sale, purchase, exchange and redemption of all securities.
DEPOSITORS INSURED
Every depositor wants and deserves safety for funds. In addition to the strength of the Union, our depositors are protected by our membership in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation which insures each depositor up to $10,000.
AUTO LOANS
Automobile Loans to finance your next car are economical. Rates are moderate and repayment terms can be arranged to meet your requirements. Inquire about these bank auto loans.
MORTGAGE LOANS
For farms, homes or commercial property, the general practice is to arrange for a periodic reduction in principal by repayment in a series of in- stallments which include interest. This is known as amortization. Please consult us when there is need for such funds.
