(N.B.) In 1880, this tomb, supposedly of Col John Wainwright, which extends underground beneath the blank slab, D-23-, was opened and Arthur Dow examined it. He found the following information on coffin lids :

C-2 -In memory of Mrs. Eunice Wait, wife of Mr. John Wait, who departed this life March 24th, 1785, in the 36th year of her age.
She was distinguished by a sentimental mind, a chearful innocence, an open generous heart, naturally inspiring heart-felt regard in others: Amiable in all relations, great in her friendships: Substantial piety, and a triumphant death, crouned the whole.
"Vain world, farewel to you; Heaven is my native air. I bid my friends a short adieu, Impatient to be there.
