In the absence of No. 2 at Fairhaven, Nos. 4 and 5 will respond to No. 2's boxes.
In the absence of No. 1 at the Head of the River, Nos. 2 and 5 will respond to No. 1's boxes.
In the absence of No. 5 at the Head of the River, Nos. 2 and 4 will respond to No. 5's boxes.
At an alarm from boxes 62, 63 or 64 No. 6 Engine will tike position in Central Engine-House, and respond to all alarms untill the return of No. 2 engine.

At an alarm from boxes 73 or 74 No. 1 engine will take position in Central Engine-House, and respond to all alarms until the return of No. 2 engine.
Should an aların be given from any box, except box 3, while a portion of the department is engaged at a fire, the return call not having been given, those remaining in quarters will immediately respond.
All second alarms will be given pulling the box in the usual way.
General alarms will be given by striking 121 twice.
One blow following alarm will indicate a wire broken or burned off ; in which case the engines responding to the second alarm from that box will respond the same as on a second alarm, but not go to work without orders.
