WARREN, WILLIAM CHAPIN, P. o. Spring- field, Mass., was born In Wardsboro, Vt .. September 24. 1839. son of Dr. John Parker and Lucy Maynard ( Wheelock ) Warren. Dr. John P. Warren and his wife were both natives of Wardsboro; he was born August 21, 1795, and she September 29. 1798. The doctor was a well-known and successful physician In southern Vermont for many years : he dled in Brattleboro, Vt., Septem- ber 14, 1878. Willlam Chapin Warren was educated In the district school und at Mon- son academy, and is a wholesale dealer In flour and produce. He was marrled on September 18, 1867. to Louise Towne .Fltts. They have had seven children. four of whom are now living, viz. : Robert Fitts Warren, Katharine Louise ( Mrs. James P. Clark ), Clifford Parker and Emlly Ward. Mrs. Louise T. Warren is a daughter of Lewis L. and Emlly (Ward) Fltts. Mr. Pitts was born in Charlton, Mass., Decem- ber 5, 1813. He was educated In the dis- triet school and learned the carpenter's trade, and later that of stalr builder and being for many years the only stalr bullder In Western Massachusetts. Ile settled In Springfield In 1841, and In 1842 was married to Emily Ward, of Charlton. They lived In n house he bullt on Willlam street until the land was required for the Wllllam street school house In 1900, when he removed to Pearl street, where he dled July 20, 1901. At the time of his death he was one of the oldest residents of the city.
