16 At a Meeting of the Church held by Adjournment Voted unanimously .
That all persons regularly baptized are to be looked upon as Members of the Church where they are baptized & so to be dealt with by the Church as such, by reproving, admonishing & censuring of Occasion require. Voted 2ndly. That we of this Church will look upon those' amongst us who we are satisfied are baptized in other Churches, as being under our Watch & Care & proceed to reprove admonish & censure if occasion require. Voted 3rd. That we will admit no baptized Persons to own the Cove- nant in order to bring his Children to Baptism whilst he continues to neglect to come to the Lord's Supper.
1769 The Church having taken cognizance of Mr. Aaron Baker 's ab - senting our Communion Voted Jan 8 That Mr. Thomas Morgan go to Mr. Baker in the name of the Church & demand of him the Reason of his absenting from our Communion.
Jan 15 The Return he made was that he chose to give the Reason himself to the Church.
Mr. Baker's Reason for absenting from our Communion is as follows viz; Because the Church does not hold Matthew Wright to confess the sin of stealing & lying which he saith he hath proved against him in the Church & the Reason that the Church did not hold him to a Confession of the aforesaid Sins he supposed was because of prejudice
Jan 18 At a Meeting , proper called, to hear & Judge of Mr. Baker's Reason for Absenting from our Communion.
Voted, Nemine contradicente, That the Charge brought against this Church by Mr. Baker is groundless & consequently the Reason of his absenting from our Communsion is insufficient. Meeting adjourned 4 weeks
Feb 15 At a meeting held by adjournment to consider the aforemen- tioned affair of Mr. Baker's. He having moved it to the Church to give him a further opportunity & a longer season to con- sider of the Matter.

1769 Voted, Ist, That we will give him no longer Opportunity to consider the matter.
He then made the following Confession to this Church. I acknowledge , Brethren, I have erred in absenting from your Communion in the manner I have done & that I wrongfully charged this Church with pre judice in clearing Mr. Matthew Wright of the Charges I brought against him for which I am heartily sorry & ask your foregiven ss.
Voted, 2 That Mr. Baker be received to our Charity & in good standing .

April 4 At a meeting of this Church to consider some matters in the Church
Voted, Ist. That this Church pay to Deacon James Easton the sum of eight shillings pr Sacriment ever since he has pro- vided for the Communion Table .
Voted, 2nd. That whereas Deacon James Easton hath exhibited a Complaint against DoctrMarsh & they having made satisfac- tion to each other & the church no farther Consideration of the affair be needful.

Mar 23 At a meeting held by the Church to consider a Complaint exhibited by Thomas Morgan & Josiah Wright against Lemuel Phelps for absenting from the Communion of this Church, & both he & his wife for living together in Contention & Dis- cord . He declared the Reason of absenting himself to be be - cause of his having embraced the Baptists' scheme ,& denied Infant Baptism to be of divine Right .
Voted, That Mr. Little , Mr.Morgan & Mr. Allen wait upon him & endeavor to convince him of his error.
The wife of Mr. Phelps then made the following Confession to this Church.
I acknowledge that I have transgressed the Rules & Duties of a Wife towards her Husband in some of my past conduct in assuming too much Authority over him & controuling him in Civil & religious matters & that I am sorry for it & ask Foregiveness & that I will in my future Conduct whilst I live with him behave as a dutiful, obedient Wife.
Voted satisfactory.
Mr. Phelps made the Following Confession to his Wife . I acknowledge that I have abused you & treated you unbe com- ing a kind & tender husband in beating you in an unmerciful manner in various Instances; in speaking unadvisedly concern ing your Death & the Birth of your last child & in not Dis- cover ing that affection I ought to bear towards you by acts of kindness & love; & in telling that I thought you had com- mitted the unpardonable sin, for which I am heartily sorry & ask the Foregiveness of God & your Foregiveness & promise to behave towards you for the future as a kind and tender husband .

1770 I acknowledge to this Church that I have broken a Christian Rule & thereby dishonoured God & brought a Scandal upon the holy Religion which I profess by my unchristian Treatment of my wife in beating her & in speaking to others of her as having committed the un- pardonable sin, in speaking unadvisedly concerning her Death & the Birth of her last child, & in not having that love & affection tovards her I engaged by my Mar - riage Covenant, for which I am heartily sorry & ask the Foregiveness & restoration to your Charity & ask your Prayers for me.
Voted satisfactory.
1771 Sep I voted that all Complaints, Petitions & the like be brought into this Church in writing.
Sep 15 The complaint of Elna than Phelps against this Church for indulging disorderly members in its Communion was read. And also the Complaint of Oliver Burt of a like nature.

Voted . That the aforesaid Complaints be dismissed from our consideration by reason of their Irregular Form. 12 At a Meeting of the Church regularly warned.
Voted. That we will enter on the Consideration of the Complaint of Josiah Wright against Elnathan Phelps & Oliver Burt for their breach of their Covenant Engage- ments in unwarrantably absenting from our Communion. Voted 2nd, that the said Complaint is supported. Voted 3rd, that we will wait on them till the 10th of Jan. next for their reflection on their Error. Voted 4th-In case of no Retraction after that the Pastor is to proceed against them by adminishing them & then in Case that is unavailable to their Repentance afterwards that they be Exommmunicated.
P.40-1772 Jan 12 Voted by the Church that we will call a Council of three of the neighboring Ministers to give us their advice relative to Mr.Phelps & Burt.
Jan 24 Mr.Stephen West & Mr.Daniel Collens were present at the Church Meeting who se Opinion & Advice relative to those Persons before mentioned was agreeable to the Opinion of the Church.
