To Daniel Crotty or any of the Constables of the Town of Plainville :
GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Plainville, qualified to vote in Town affairs, to meet in the Town Hall, in said Plainville, on Monday, the thir- teenth (13th) day of March, A. D. 1911, at nine o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles, viz. :
ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
ART. 2. To consider and act upon the reports of the Se- lectmen, Treasurer and other Town Officers.
ART. 3. To choose all necessary Town officers. The fol- lowing are to be chosen by ballot, vis : Three Selectmen, three Overseers of the Poor, one Assessor for three years, and one for two years, one Treasurer, one Clerk, one Trustee of Public Library for three years, one Auditor, one Collector of Taxes, one Water Commissioner for three years, one Tree

Warden, three Constables, one member of the School Com- mittee for three years, and one for two years, and also upon the same ballot, to vote upon the question : "Shall license be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in the town?" All officers, except as above named, are to be chosen for one year.
The polls will be opened at 9:30 o'clock a. m., and may be closed at 2 p. m.
ART. 4. To see how much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for :
1st. For the support of schools for the current year.
2nd. For school books and incidentals the current year.
3rd. For the employment of a Superintendent of Schools.
4th. For the support of the Public Library.
5th. For the payment of salaries of the different Town

ART. 5. To see if the Town will grant the use of Town Hall free of charge to George H. Maintien Post 33, G. A. R., three days the current year.
ART. 6. To see if the Town will grant the use of Town Hall free of charge to the Fire Department four evenings the current year. (Petition.)
ART. 7. To see if the Town will grant the use of Town Hall free of charge to the Alumni Association one evening the current year.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will vote to extend the water main northerly on South street from the end of the main to a point at or near the Wrentham Town line, and appropriate money therefor or do anything ,relating thereto, subject to a guarantee of five per cent. (Petition.)
ART. 9. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Water Commissioners to petition the Legislature for the right to borrow a sum of money for the extension of its water mains. (Petition.)
ART. 10 To see if the Town will vote to extend the water mains from corner of Walnut and West Bacon streets, to corner of West Beacon street and Coddings Row, (so called), and fifteen hundred feet up Walnut street and make an appropriation therefor.
ART. 11. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate one hundred and fifty dollars or any other sum for the purpose of building cross walks in the center of the town.
ART. 12. To see how much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for the suppression of the sale of in-

toxicating liquors, and for the apprehension and prosecution of offenders against the law relating to the illegal keeping and sale of such liquors, and instruct the Selectmen to em- ploy efficient agents and counsel to prosecute such offenders.
ART. 13. To see what action the Town will take with re- gard to the collection of taxes the current year, fix the compensation of the Collector, and determine the rate of in- terest to be charged on taxes remaining unpaid after Novem- ber 1, 1911.
ART. 14. To see if the Town will vote to have the surety on the Collector's, or other Town officers' bonds, placed with a fidelity or guarantee company, and appropriate a suffi- cent sum of money to pay for the same.
ART. 15. To see if the Town will authorize the Collector of Taxes to use all of the means of collecting taxes which a Town Treasurer may use when appointed Collector.
ART. 16. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen or a majority thereof, to borrow during the municipal year, beginning February 1. 1911, in anticipation of the collection of taxes of said year, such sums of money as may be necessary for the current expenses of the Town, but not exceeding the total tax levy for said year, giving the notes of the Town therefor, payable within one year from the date thereof. All debts incurred under authority of this vote shall be paid from the taxes of the present municipal year.
ART. 1%. To see if the town will vote to create a debt of three thousand ($3.000) dollars or any part thereof, and de- termine how and when the same shall be paid.
ART. 18. To choose any committee to hear the report of any committee and act thereon.

Record of Proceedings of Annual Town Meeting
Plainville, Mass., March 13, 1911.
The annual Town meeting was opened at 9 o'clock a. m., by the reading of the warrant by Town Clerk Shannon.
ART. 1. Gardner Warren was chosen a committee of one and instructed to cast one ballot for H. F. Keeney for mod- erator. The ballot was cast for Mr. Keeney and he was de- clared elected.
Rev. Mr. Patton on invitation from the moderator, uttered a brief prayer.
ART. 2. Article 2 was taken up and considering the reports of the various Town officers attention was called to errors in printed report on pages 16 and 34.
On motion of W. E. Barden Article 2 was laid on the table and Article 3 was taken up on motion of W. E. Barden.
It was voted to proceed with the election of Town officers and at 9 :30 o'clock a. m., the polls were declared open, and voters proceeded to ballot. Other Town officers not required to be chosen by ballot, were elected as follows :

ART. 2. By unanimous consent Article 2 was taken from the table. Mr. Breen called attention to typographical errors on pages 16, 23 and 27 of the Assessors valuation list and on motion of J. J. Eiden that the reports of the several Town officers be accepted as corrected, it was so voted.
ARTICLE 4, SECTION 1. On motion of Rufus King the sum of fifty-four hundred dollars together with the Dog Fund and interest on the School Fund was appropriated for the support of schools the ensuing year.
SEC. 2. On motion of R. King the sums of five hundred dollars for school books and five hundred dollars for inciden- tals were granted.
SEC. 3. On motion of R. King the sum of five hundred and forty dollars was granted for Superintendent of Schools.
SEC. 14. On motion of R. King fifty dollars was granted for employment of School Physician.
SEC. 4. On motion of F. W. Northup the sum of four hundred dollars was granted for support of Public Library.
Sections 5 and 6 of Article 4 were by vote taken up to- gether. On motion of J. F. Breen it was voted that the salary of Auditor be twenty-five dollars per year instead of ten dollars as heretofore. On motion of W. E. Barden the salaries of the Water Commissioners were voted to be fixed as follows: Fifty dollars for the Chairman and twenty-five dollars each for the other two commissioners per year. On

motion of J. F. Breen, that the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars together with receipts from Town Hall, be appropri- ated for current and incidental expenses and salaries of the various town officers, it was so voted.
SEC. 7. On motion of R. King the sum of three hundred dollars was granted for the Poor and Soldiers' Relief.
On motion of W. E. Barden it was voted to take up Article 11 in connection with Article 4. On motion of W. E. Barden that the sum of three hundred dollars be appropri- ated for sidewalks and crosswalks and that the Selectmen be instructed to build crosswalks in center of town and that the balance of said amount if any be expended on sidewalks, it was so voted.
SEC. 8. On motion of Frank E. Whiting that the sum of eighteen hundred dollars be appropriated for highways and bridges, and that three hundred dollars of same be expended on sidewalks and amendement by W. E. Barden, was voted that the sum of one hundred dollars be expended on side- walks instead of three hundred dollars .- It was then voted that the sum of eighteen hundred dollars be granted as am- ended.
On motion of W. E. Barden it was voted that the Select- men be instructed to insert an Article in the next annual town warrant to see if the town will accept the betterment Act applying to sidewalks.
SEC. 9. On motion of R. King the sum of two hundred dollars was granted for State and Military Aid.
SEC. 10. On motion of J. J. Eiden the sum of seventy-five dollars was granted to be turned over to Quartermaster of George H. Maintien Post 133, G. A. R., for the observance of Memorial Day.

SEC. 12. On motion of Chief H. E. Coombs it was voted that the sum of five hundred dollars be appropriated for the Fire Department.
SEC. 13. On motion of J. F. Breen the sum of one thou- sand dollars was appropriated for lighting streets the cur- rent year.
SEC. 15. On motion of W. H. Nash it was voted to lay section 15 on the table until later.
ART. 5. Article 5 was taken up and on motion of Percy E. Fisher, the use of the Town Hall free of charge, to George H. Maintien Post 133 G. A. R., for three days the current year, was granted.
ART. 6. On motion of J. F. Breen the use of Town Hall free of charge was granted to the Fire Department four eve- nings the current year.
ART. 7. On motion of T. E. A. Fuller, the use of Town Hall free of charge was granted to the Alumni Association one evening the current year.
ART. 12. Article 12 was here taken up and on motion of R. King the sum of one hundred dollars was appropriated for suppression of sale of intoxicating liquors and the Selectmen were instructed to act in accordance with the article.
ART. 13. On motion of W. E. Barden, it was voted that the compensation of Tax Collector be one hundred dollars, and that twenty-five dollars of the same be paid when tax is committed to him and that the balance be paid when tax is paid in full and that 6 per cent. interest be charged on taxes unpaid after November 1, 1911.
ART. 14. On motion of J. F. Breen it was voted that the sureties on Collectors and other Town Officers bonds be

placed with a fidelety or guarantee company, and that the ex- pense of same be paid from appropriation for current and incidental expenses.
ART. 15. On motion of J. T. Goff the Collector of Taxes ivas authorized in accordance with the article.
ART. 16. It was unanimously voted that the Treasurer be and hereby is with the approval of the Selectmen or a majority thereof, to borrow during the municipal year, be- ginning February 1, 1911, in anticipation of the collection of taxes of said year, such sums of money as may be necessary for the current expenses of the Town, but not exceeding the total tax levy for said year, giving the notes of the Town therefor payable within one year from the date thereof. All debts incurred under authority of this vote shall be paid from the taxes of the present municipal year.
On motion of W. E. Barden a recess was here voted till 1 o'clock p. m.
ART 9. After recess Article 9 was taken up and on motion of W. E. Barden it was indefinitely postponed.
ART. 10. On motion of Rufus King to lay Article 10 on the table, it was declared not a vote but on verifying by count 19 voted the affirmative and 9 in the negative and the Article was laid on the table.
ART. 8. On motion of W. E. Barden Article 8 was laid on the table temporarily.
ART. 4. Article 4 was again taken up and under Sec. 15, "c" and "d" on motion of W. E. Barden, it was voted that the unexpended balance of $55.69 on construction, together with the sum of four thousand dollars be appropri- ated for the extension of service and construction, and that

the Water Commissioners be authorized to extend the water mains where they can have a guaranty of 5 per cent income on cost of extension.
(a) On motion of W. H. Nash the sum of eight hundred and fifty dollars together with receipts from supplies was ap- propriated for water incidentals.
(b) On motion of W. H. Nash the sum of twelve hundred dollars was appropriated.
At 2 :25 p. m., by vote the ballot box was opened and counting commenced. Ballot box registered two hundred and eleven and check list showed two hundred and eleven names checked as having voted.
ART. 17 On motion of W. E. Barden it was voted that the Town create a debt of two thousand dollars, that the Treasurer be authorized to borrow the same by a note count- ersigned by the Seclectmen, and the same to be borrowed for not exceeding one year.
ART. 4. Article 4 was again taken up and Sec. 11, on motion of W. E. Barden it was voted that the sum of nine- teen hundren dollars and receipts from interest other than upon School Fund be appropriated for payment of interest the current year.
ART. 10. Article 10 was by vote taken from the table. On motion of W. E. Barden Article 10 was indefinitely post- poned.
The Polls were by vote closed at 2:50 o'clock p. m. The total vote registered on ballot box was two hundred and thirteen and two hundred and thirteen names were checked on voting list, and two hundred and thirteen ballots had been cast, two of which were cast by female voters and were for School Committee only. The result of the vote for Town officers was as follows :-

To E. Wright Sargent or either of the Constables of the town of Plainville:
GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Plainville, qualified to vote in town affairs to meet in the Town Hall, in said Plainville, on Monday, the 9th Day of October, A. D. 1911, at 8 :30 o'clock in the eve- ning, then and there to act on the following articles, viz :
ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
ART. 2. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to contract with the Foxboro Electric Co. to light the streets for a period of three years, and appropriate money therefor.
