This certifies that I have carefully examined the books and accounts of the Treasurer and find them cor- rect; that I have compared the vouchers of the Selectmen and School Committee and find them to agree with the payments of the Treasurer; that I have compared the pay roll of the Surveyor of Highways and find them to agree with the payments of the Treasurer; that the books of the Collector of Taxes have been examined for 1906 and that the amounts collected and taxes un- paid are as stated in the Treasurer's report.

Annual Town Meeting
The Annual Town Meeting, the first to be held in the new Town Hall, was opened by the Town Clerk at 9 o'clock a. m. by reading the warrant. Arthur E. Fisher, O. Parker Brown, W. H. Nash and Percy E. Fisher were appointed tellers.
Under Article I, to choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting, H. F. Keeney received 56 votes and F. W. Northup 36 votes, and Mr. Keeney was declared elected. Articles 3 and 4 were taken up and the Moderator then opened the polls for the election of Town Officers to be chosen by ballot and the vote on question of granting liquor licenses.
Article 3. To choose all necessary Town Officers. The following are to be chosen by ballot :Three Select- men, Overseers of the Poor, Board of Health, Assessors, Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, Auditor, Constables and Collector of Taxes, all for one year ; and one member of School Committee for three years.
Article 4. To vote "yes" or "no" by separate ballot upon the question, "Shall license be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in the Town for the ensuing year."
Article 5. To see if the Town will accept the Jury List as prepared by the Selectmen and posted according to law.
On motion of W. F. Maintien, Article 5 was taken up and Lyman B. Hancock, W. H. Corbin, W. E. Barden,

Article 2. To consider and act upon the reports of the Selectmen, Treasurer and other Town officers.
The reports of the several Town officers were ac- cepted on motion of Mr. Fisher.
Article 6. To see if the Town will vote, that here- after official ballots shall be used for the election of Town officers.
On motion of John P. Zilch it was voted unanimously that official ballots be hereafter used in Town elections. Article 7. To see how much money the Town will grant for the support of schools for the current year.
On motion of Mr. Rufus King, that $5,500.00 be granted for support of schools, W. E. Barden offered an amendment that the proceeds of the Dog Fund be added. The amendment was accepted and the sum was granted as amended.

Article 8. To see how much money the Town will grant for school books and incidentals the current year.
On motion of Mr. Rufus King that $750.00 be granted for school books and incidental expenses, Mr. Barden moved that the question be divided. The sum of $350.00 recommended for books was granted. Here Article 12, to see if the Town will appropriate and raise the sun of $100.00 to paint the High School building, was taken up in connection with Article 8, and on motion of Mr. King the sum of $400.00 was granted for school cur- rent and incidental expenses, and that the expense of painting the High School building be paid from the same.
Article 9. To see how much money the Town will grant for the employment of a Superintendent of Schools.
The sum of $450.00 was granted on motion of Mr. King.
Article 10. To see if the Town will appropriate $100.00 or any other sum for the transportation of scholars to and from the public schools.
Mr. King moved that $100.00 be appropriated, but on motion of W. H. Nash the question was laid on the table till after the consideration of Article II.
Article II. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the School Committee to close the Shepardville school and transport the scholars to the center schools, was here taken up and Mr. King's motion that the Shepard- ville school be closed and that the scholars be trans- ferred to the center schools was amended by Mr. Bar- den by adding that the expense of transportation be paid from the school appropriation, and was adopted. On motion, Article 10 was here taken from the table and a motion that $100.00 be granted being declared not a vote the declaration was doubted, and on verifica- tion by count the vote was, affirmative 30, negative 22.

Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to fix the salaries of the different Town officers.
Voted, that a committee of five be appointed to con- sider the fixing of salaries of the several Town officers and report later at the meeting. The Moderator ap- pointed F. W. Northup, C. N. Moore, O. P. Brown, J. T. Goff and F. O. Corbin.
Article 14. To see how much money the Town will appropriate and raise for current and incidental ex- penses the ensuing year.
On motion of J. P. Zilch $1,500.00 was granted.
Article 15. To see how much money the Town will appropriate and raise for the support of poor for the current year
On motion of W. F. Maintien the sum of $500.00 and the unexpended balance of $118.02 was granted.
Article 16. To see how much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for highways and bridges the current year and determine how it shall be ex- pended.
On motion of W. E. Barden the sum of $1,000 was granted, and on motion of W. F. Maintien it was ordered that the sum be expended under the direction or super- vision of the Highway Surveyor.
Article 17. To see how much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for the State and Military Aid the current year.
On motion of W. F. Maintien the sum of $125.00 was granted.
Article 18. To see how much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for Memorial Day.
On motion of W. H. Nash the sum of $75.00 was granted.
Article 19. To see if the Town will grant the use of Town Hall free of charge to Geo. H. Maintien Post 133, G. A. R., three days the current year. (Request).

On motion of H. E. Thompson it was granted.
Article 20. To see how much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for the payment of interest the current year.
On motion of W. E. Barden the sum of $400.00, to- gether with the unexpended balance of $296.85.
Article 21. To see if the Town will grant the use of Town Hall free of charge to the Fire Department one evening the current year.
Granted on motion of H. E. Thompson.
Article 22. To see how much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for the Fire Department the current year.
The sum of $200.00, together with the unexpended balance of $122.92, was granted on motion of W. E. Barden.
Article 23. To see how. much money the Town will vote to appropriate and raise for the suppression of the sale of intoxicating liquors and for the apprehension and prosecution of offenders against he law relating to the illegal keeping and sale of such liquors, and instruct the Selectmen to employ efficient agents and counsel to prosecute such offenders.
The unexpended balance of last year's $100.00 was granted on motion of W. E. Barden.
Article 24. To see what action the Town will take with regard to the collection of taxes the current year, fix the compensation of the Collector and determine the rate of interest to be charged on taxes remaining unpaid after November 1, 1906.
On motion of J. P. Zilch it was voted that the taxes be due November I, and interest be charged on taxes unpaid November I at the rate of six per cent. per an- num; that the Tax Collector be paid a salary of $100.00, $25.00 payable in advance, and the balance when the taxes shall have been collected.

Article 25. To see if the Town will vote to have the surety on the Collector's or other town officers' bonds placed with a fidelity or guaranty company and appro- priate a sufficient sum of money to pay for same.
On motion of W. F. Maintien it was voted that the sureties be so placed and the expense of same be paid from the appropriation for current and incidental ex- penses.
Article 26. To see if the Town will authorize the Collector of Taxes to use all of the means of collecting taxes which a town treasurer may use when appointed collector.
So authorized on motion of J. P. Zilch.
Article 30. To see if the Town will vote to create a debt of $2,000.00 or any part thereof and determine how and when the same shall be paid.
Article 31. To see what disposition the Town will make of the School Fund.
Articles 30 and 31 were here taken up for considera- tion together, and on motion of W. E. Barden the Town was authorized to borrow the School Fund of $727.30 for 15 years at 4 per cent. Vote of 25 affirmative, nega- tive none.
On motion W. E. Barden it was voted that the Town create a debt of $500.00 and that the same be paid in one year. The vote being by count, resulted : affirma- tive 37, negative none.
Article 27. To see if the Town will authorize their Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to bor- row temporarily in anticipation of the taxes of the pres- ent municipal year, such sums of money as may from time to time be required, and give negotiable note or notes of the Town therefor, all such loans to be paid from said taxes.
On motion of Geo. W. Wocd the Treasurer was so authorized.

Article 28. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to make such contract with the Massa- chusetts Highway Commissioners for the construction of an extension of the State highway the current year as in their judgment is for the best interests of the Town.
On motion of W. E. Barden, indefinitely postponed.
Article 29. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to indemnify the Commonwealth against all claims and demands for damages which may be sus- tained by any person whose property is taken for or is injured by the construction of any highway which the Massachusetts Highway Commission propose to lay out and construct as State road, in accordance with Public Statutes.
Indefinitely postponed on motion of H. E. Thomp- son.
The Committee on Salaries of Town officers here re- ported, recommending the following schedule:
Board of Selectmen, Overseers of Poor and Board of Health, Chairmen $125.00 per year; the other mem- bers $100.00 per year each member.
The Board of Selectmen, when acting as Board of Registrars of Voters, 25 cents per hour.
School Committee, $40.00 each per year.
Town Clerk, $75.00.
Town Treasurer, $100.00.
Auditor, $10.00. Moderator, $5.00.
Tellers, $3.00.
In considering the report of the Committee the Town took up the question of compensation of Assessors, and by a vote of 17 in favor and II against the compensation of Assessors was fixed at 30 cents per hour, and the rate of salaries of the several other Town officers re- ported by the Committee were adopted.

Article 32. To see if the Town will vote to discon- tinue that portion of Cowell street (so-called), ex- tending from George street to the residence of Joseph Zaino.
Indefinitely postponed on motion of H. E. Thompson.
Article 33. To see if the Town will vote to choose a committee to make a thorough investigation into the advisability of a water system for the Town.
On motion of W. F. Maintien that a committee of five be appointed to investigate as to the advisability of a water supply system for the Town, and amendment of H. P. Fisher that the committee report at the next an- nual Town meeting, it was voted as amended. It was voted that a committee of five be appointed from the floor to retire and report a list of five names for the com- mittee. The committee appointed to retire and report consisted of Charles N. Moore, W. E. Barden, J. J. Eiden, E. N. Woodward and George F. Cheever.
A recess was taken till 2 o'clock p. m.
Article 33 was returned to and the committee reported , the following names to constitute the committee of in- vestigation as to the advisability of a water supply sys- tem for the Town.
Wm. F. Maintien, H. E. Thompson, W. E. Barden, George F. Cheever, C. N. Moore,
and the persons named were elected as the committee on motion of J. F. Breen.
The subject matter of Article 6 of the warrant of the special Town meeting of Nov. 6, 1905, having been re- ferred to this meeting, the subject was taken up re- garding the establishment of a Public Library, and it was voted to indefinitely postpone.

Article 34. To choose any committee to hear the report of any committee and act thereon.
On motion of W. F. Maintien, by a rising vote, the report of the committee on building the new school- house and Town Hall, as printed, was accepted, and the thanks of the Town was tendered the committee.
On motion of C. H. Moore the committee on the divi- sion of the corporate property of the towns of Plain- ville and Wrentham was given thanks by a rising vote.
A return was here made to Article 3, and other Town officers were chosen as follows:

Annual State Election
The annual State election was held at the Town Hall, opening at 6 o'clock a. m. by the reading of the warrant by the Town Clerk.
The Board of Selectmen, ballot clerks, Gardner War- ren and Arthur E. Fisher, and the tellers, Fred W. Northup and Harry B. Thompson, were present, and the election apparatus was duly examined and the ballot box closed and sealed, and the ballots turned over to the ballot clerks and receipts taken therefor by the Town Clerk, and the polls were declared open.
