The subscribers to whom was refered the article in the Warrant for the lash town Meeting, relating to the road from the sunal Brage to Marshall's cause- way, having viewed the same, usputfully Report. 1.2. 1425 Report of the committee for dividing the Town.


The Committee, appointed by the town to confer with Kirk Booth and others, who have petite oned the General bauert to incorporate the Northeasterly part of the town of Chelmsford into a Separate Township, have attended to the city of- signed them as stated in the following Report. Having first given the Petitioners and all others interested therein Notice of their appointment and of the time and place of their Meeting, the Committee have met and confered with a Committee appointed on the past of said petitioners, when the subject of their petition, and now submit the following articles, which in the opinion of your Committee, are the most favora. the terms to the town, to which the Committee of said Peti- tioners were willing to agree, to wit Article 1st The lines of the new Town shall run on follow. Beginning on Merrimack River two hundred reds above Pantuckit Canal and Thence running Sautherly in a straight course to the Middleses Banal ten raus Northerly of the Bridge near Mr. Silas Pierces; there running Southeast only on the canal twenty rods; there turning of running a due East course to Coward River, theme down Coward Rever to Drawthe Line, Theme up Mer- remark River to the place of Beginning. Article 2. That the Poor of the Town shall be supported by each Town in which then Settle- ment was gained, Article 3. That all the debts due from the town at the time of Separation (excepting the principle Ium dice for the Poor farm) shall be paid Jointly by each Your according to their pres- ist valuation, after collecting and applying to this purpose all the Taxes, as already granted by the Town.
