WARRANT FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
BRISTOL, SS.
TO LYMAN M. STANLEY, OR EITHER OF THE CONSTABLES OF THE TOWN OF ATTLEBOROUGH, GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the legal voters in the town of Attleborough, to meet in Agricultural Hall, in said Attleborough, on MONDAY, March 19, 1883, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act upon the following articles, to wit :
1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
2. To consider and act upon the reports of the Selectmen, Treasurer, and other town officers.
3. To determine the number that shall constitute the Boards of Selectmen, Assessors and School Committe, also the number of Col- lectors and Constables, for the ensuing year.
4. To bring in their votes for Town Clerk, Selectmen, Assessors. one Overseer of the Poor, Treasurer, Collectors and Constables, all on one ballot.
5. To bring in their votes for School Committee.
6. To vote " Yes" or " No" by separate ballot upon the question : " Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquor in this town?" the ensuing year.
7. To choose all other town officers.
8. To see if the town will accept the Jury List as prepared by the Selectmen.
9. To determine the compensation of town officers.
10. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer to make temporary loans in anticipation of receipts from taxes for the years 1883 and 1884.

11. To see what disposition the town will make of the dog fund reported in the hands of the Treasurer.
12. To see if the town will raise money to pay military aid as provided by statute.
13. To see if the town will authorize the Overseers of the Poor to contract with physicians to attend the poor for the ensuing year.
14. To choose any committee; to hear the report of any com- mitte, and act thereon.
15. To see if the town will vote to employ a patrol force for the ensuing year.
16. To see if the town will employ physicians to sign certificates of the causes of death, as provided by statute.
17. To see what bridges the town will build.
18. To hear the report of the committee on a Board of Health, and act thereon ; and to choose a Board of Health.
19. To see if the town will accept the re-location of West street, North Attleborough, beginning at Park street and running westerly to the Wrentham line, as made by the Selectmen, agreeably to a petition.
20. To see if the town will accept the re-location of Ehn street, North Attleborough, beginning at Washington street and rmming to East street, as made by the Selectmen, agreeably to a petition.
21. To see if the town will accept the re-location of the Mill Road, Attleborough Falls, beginning at Elm street and running southerly to the residence of William Marshall, as made by the Selectmen, agree- ably to a petition.
22. To see if the town will accept the location of River street, North Attleborough, beginning at Fisher's Bridge, and running easterly and southerly by Patrick Maloney's, to Fisherstreet, as laid out by the Selectmen, agreeably to a petition.
23. To see if the town will accept the location of Forest street, Attleborough, beginning at Pleasant street and running southerly to Park street, as laid out by the Selectmen, agreeably to a petition.
24. To see if the town will accept the location of Hope street, beginning at Peck street and running northerly to Oak street, as laid out by the Selectmen, agreeably to a petition.
25. To see if the town will accept the re-location of West street, Attleborough, beginning at North Main street, and running westerly to the school house at the Farmers.

26. To see if the town will accept the location of Starkey avenue. Attleborough, beginning at Pleasant street and running westerly to the Boston and Providence railroad, agreeably to a petition.
27. To see if the town will vote to construct a sewer through Union street and other streets, agreeably to the report of the committee on the drainage of Union street, and make an appropriation therefor.
28. To see if the town will vote to grade, drain and repair Iligh street, Attleborongh Falls, between the "School House Corner " and the bridge opposite the Braid Mill, agreeably to a petition.
29. To see if the town will vote to build a stone bridge over the Ten Mile River, near the Braid Mill, Attleborough Falls, agreeably to a petition.
30. To see what action the town will take to grade and drain Church street, North Attleborough, agreeably to a petition.
31. To see if the town will vote to put Thacher street, from South Main street to County street, in passable condition, and appropriate a sını of money for that purpose, agreeably to a petition.
32. To see what action the town will take relative to the drainage of Barrows street, North Attleborough, agreeably to a petition.
33. To see if the town will make an appropriation to grade the Watery Hill road, North Attleborough, agreeably to a petition.
34. To see if the town will grant the sum of one thousand dollars or any sum, to grade Washington street, North Attleborough, from East street to Hatch's Bridge, agreeably to a petition.
35. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of five hundred dollars, or any sum, to complete the construction of the Valley Falls Road, agreeably to a petition.
36. To see if the town will make an appropriation for the repair of the road beginning near the residence of Bradford S. Dorrance. thence through Briggsville to the Rehoboth line, agreeably to a peti- tion.
37. To see if the town will grant the sum of one thousand dol- lars, or any sum, to macadamize Ehn street, North Attleborough, agree- ably to a petition.
38. To see if the town will make an appropriation to grade, drain and repair the Mill Road near the residence of Sylvester W. Stanley, agreeably to a petition.
39. To determine what discount the town will make for prompt payment of taxes, and make an appropriation therefor.

40. To see if the town will authorize the collectors of taxes to use all means of collecting taxes which a Town Treasurermay use when appointed collector.
41. To see what sum of money the town will appropriate to be expended by G. A. R. Post No. 145, in decorating the graves of the soldiers and sailors of the Republic, buried within the limits of the town.
42. To see how much the town will appropriate for the support of paupers.
43. To see how much money the town will appropriate for high- ways and bridges.
41. To see what sum of money the town will grant for current and incidental expenses.
45. To see what sum of money the town will grant for the sup- port of public schools.
46. To see if the town will make appropriations to procure ap- paratus, books of reference and other means of illustration, for public schools.
47. To see what sum of money the town will grant for incidental educational expenses.
48. To see what sum of money the town will grant for building, enlarging and repairing school buildings.
49. To see if the town will, by vote, require the School Committee to appoint a Superintendent of public schools, agreeably to a petition.
50. To see if the town will, by vote, authorize its School Com- mittee to purchase text books and stationery for use in the public schools, in accordance with Chapter 44, Section 40, of the Public Statutes.
51. To hear the report of the Committee on the Appraisement of the school property, and act thereon.
52. To see what action the town will take to ascertain the in- debtedness of the several school districts, assumed by the town; and the assets in cash and uncollected taxes belonging to the said districts.
53. To determine in what manner the town will adjust the dif- ference in the value of the property of the several School Districts, and to make the appropriation needed by reason of such adjustment.
54. To see what debts the town will vote to create in accordance with Chapter 29, Sections 7 and 8, of the Public Statutes.

55. To see how much money the town will appropriate to sup- press the illegal sale and traffic in intoxicating liquors, agreeably to a petition.
56. To see whether the town will, by its vote or otherwise, ask the Legislature to extend to women who are citizens, the right to hold town offices and to vote in town affairs on the same terms as male citi- zens, agreeably to a petition.
57. To see if the town will assent to the exclusion of Frank E. Ames and his estate, and the estate of the late George B. Richards from North Attleborough Fire District No. 1, and also from the Un- ion Improvement District, North Attleborough, agreeably to a petition.
And you are hereby directed to serve this warrant by posting up- attested copies thereof in at least ten public places in said town, at least seven days before the time of said meeting.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at or before the time of said meet- ing.
