Advertisements of more than half a square, $1.50 for three insertions, once a week, or in three papers in succession, at the option of the advertiser; 16g cts. for every ad- ditional insertion.
Advertisements not exceeding half a square, $1.00 for three insertions as above; 12} cts. for every additional insertion.
Probate Notices of every kind, not exceeding a square, $1.50 for three insertions. Sixteen lines of Nonpareil type are equal to a square.
When advertisements are ordered to be continued on the INSIDE, ten per cent. extra must be paid for each insertion.
64 cents a line must be paid for notices for meetings for political, civic, and religious purposes, notices of societies, cards of acknowledgment from individuals, companies, &c., for one insertion. All leaded notices, 8 cents per line.
The privilege of Annual Advertisers is limited to their own immediate business; and all advertisements for the benefit of other persons, as well as all legal advertise- ments, and advertisements of real estate, or auction sales, sent in by them, must be paid for at the usual rates.
All advertisements intended for this paper must be marked on the margin of the copy the number of insertions desired, otherwise they will be published till ordered out, and charged accordingly.

The Salem Gazette,

Is printed on TUESDAY and FRIDAY mornings, at $3.50 per year when paid in advance - $4 when not in advance. The length of time which it has been before the public, and the extensive circulation it has obtained for the larger part of a century, render it unnecessary here to enter into a formal ex- position of its character. The intention is that it shall always contain the most important foreign and domestic intelligence, political, moral, and literary ; original communications upon all subjects connected with the public welfare ; a full and correct shipping list; business advertisements ; and, in short, every- thing that is usually found and expected in a Family Newspaper.
The large country circulation of the Gazette (including the Mercury, in which all new advertisements of the Gazette are published) renders it particularly valuable as a medium for the publication of Probate advertisements, sales of Real Estate, and other notices of interest to the farming population.
The Essex County Mercury,
OR WEEKLY SALEM GAZETTE, ESTABLISHED A.D. 1832,
Is made up from the reading matter of the Salem Gazette, and is one of the largest and cheapest papers in New England. The subscription price is $2.00 a year, when paid in advance. The quantity of reading afforded is much greater than is usually found in a Newspaper; and, as it circulates extensively in all parts of the County of Essex, particular pains are taken to present all the local matters of the County. The Mercury is published every Wednes- day morning ; the price, when not paid in advance, is $2.50 per year, payable semi-annually.
