Parks, Playgrounds, Etc.


Beacon Boulevard. 160-190 feet wide, running westerly across the town from St. Mary st. at the Boston line, to Boston line near Chestnut Hill Reservoir. It has two carriage driveways, a bridle path, and reservation in centre for electric cars.


Brookline Avenue Playground. Bounded by Brookline and Aspinwall avenues and the B. & A. railroad.


Clyde Park. Property of the Country club, off' Clyde st. near Newton st. It is used for track and steeple-chase races, polo, golf, etc., and has a fine hostelry for members and their guests.


Cypress Street Playground. Bounded by Cypress and Tappan sts., Gor- ham and Davis avenues. Used for athletic sports, base-ball, mili- tary drills, etc. The ground is laid out with running track and base- ball diamonds, and the town owns movable observation seats.


Longwood Mall (private). Bounded by Kent, Chatham, Hawes, and Beech streets.


Longwood Playground (known as the Thomas lot). Between Longwood av. and Francis st. But little has yet been done to fit it for public use.


Riverdale Parkway. Partly in Brookline and partly in Boston, contin- uing along the southeasterly boundary line from St. Mary st., near the Beacon Boulevard, to Jamaica Pond. Much of the work of con- struction is completed, and the drives and footways are now enjoyed by the public.
